CNN has almost certainly adopted the strategy that if you can’t beat the opposition, then go Alinsky on them and criticize ad nauseam.
CNN’s media reporter Oliver Darcy took exception to #1 ranked Fox News cutting to “The Five” during a recess in the latter segment of Tuesday’s impeachment hearing, instead of going to anchors Chris Wallace or Bret Baier, who are more likely to be critical of President Donald Trump.
“Second set of impeachment hearings just went to recess,” Darcy said in a tweet. “Fox is not going to its journalists like Chris Wallace or Bret Baier for a summary on what happened. It instead goes to “The Five” panel. [Greg Gutfeld] starts off commentary saying, ‘What a tremendous absolute waste of time.'”

Of course, the operative words come at the end, as Darcy could not possibly conceive the notion that the hearings might actually be an “absolute waste of time.”
And could his condescending sneer be any more obvious when it comes to Gutfeld’s opinion?
“What a tremendous absolute waste of time for everybody who watches this,” Gutfeld said. “This is not a hearing, it’s a human resources meeting.”
“You’re in charge of a department, a new boss comes in. He needs to establish a new way, his new stamp. Your priorities don’t jive,” he said. “There’s a tug of war between sides. The boss always wins.”
Gutfeld explained that “the struggle is necessary to prove the viability of the existing structure.”
“This is not impeachment, this is what happens in the office. The irony is the people who work for a living aren’t here to watch this to laugh at this,” he added.
“The media thinks this is important because they’ve never been in a workplace situation. They’ve never managed anything. They’ve never been an incoming boss so they’re tricked into thinking this is something important when this is something that happens every single day in everyone’s business,” Gutfeld concluded. “It’s a freaking joke.”
Pretty sound assessment, no?
Gutfeld also had a little advice for his antagonizer, telling Darcy in a tweet: “You’ll get over it. Go for a walk.”

The best Darcy could do was come back with this: “Greg, if the hearings are a ‘waste of time,’ as you claim, then why is Fox airing them live?”

Never mind that Gutfeld offered that assessment after watching the proceedings and determining that there is little of value being presented.
As for the social media reaction, that too did not fare well for Darcy — here’s a small sampling of responses from Twitter:
Greg is Absolutely Right!!!! Tried to watch……could not hold my eyes open!! Dems Have NOTHING!!!! What a sham!!

I really do not think that @CNN or any other liberal news agency ever reads the comments because if they did they wouldn’t make such stupid statements. Blows my mind!

Greg totally nailed it. Oliver is far, far behind
— Joe the Dissident (@joethepatriotic) November 20, 2019
As CNN and other media spin the scam as a monumental and legitimate hearing, any thinking person listening to the testimony can only conclude after 3 years promising to impeach their target the best the Democrats have comes down to a few bureaucrats undermining foreign policy.

I love @greggutfeld, he holds nothing back! Speaks the truth!

You should try being honest like Greg!

Greg was nice about it as majority of American people believe the Clown shows @RepAdamSchiff is putting on will end up just like the Muller Report a pile of ??. The polls we the people are seeing do not reflect what people think about this waste of time and money.
— ROGER BARNHART (@ROGERGB) November 20, 2019
Sorry @oliverdarcy: But @greggutfeld is absolutely correct:
The #impeachmenthearings are “tremendous absolute waste of time”.As well as taxpayer money.
It is as if #democrats are trying to beat down the will of Americans: their vote and their spirit. #Disgraceful

The impeachment hearing is an absolute sh#t show, why not have the comedic brilliance of Greg cover the buffoonery
