Katie Pavlich cites Stephanopoulos, Clinton connection in ABC’s Epstein cover-up scandal

Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich dropped ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos into the center of the story of why the network backed off covering the bombshell Jeffrey Epstein report.

Pavlich didn’t miss a beat Wednesday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” boldly making the connection that ABC’s resistance to running with a story on the late convicted pedophile could be connected to Stephanopoulos, ABC News’ chief anchor on “Good Morning America,” and the Clintons.

“There’s no question, executives at ABC protected Jeffrey Epstein,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson said on Wednesday. “Why do you think they did that?”

“Because their star anchor’s name is George Stephanopoulos and of course George Stephanopoulos worked as Bill Clinton’s communications director at the White House,” Pavlich replied, discussing the fallout from the Project Veritas video that showed ABC anchor Amy Robach’s frustrated comments about having her Epstein story shelved.

“And when was this information given to Robach at ABC? When did she bring all this to her executives to say we should put this to air? Right before the 2016 election when Hillary Clinton was running on the Democratic ticket,” the Townhall editor continued.

She noted the other connection with Stephanopoulos by saying that he was a guest at a 2010 dinner party held at Epstein’s home just after the convicted sex offender, who died in August while awaiting federal trial, had served 13 months in prison for soliciting underage girls.

“That dinner was the first and last time I’ve seen him,” Stephanopoulos told The New York Times. “I should have done more due diligence. It was a mistake to go.”

“You’re saying at the time Amy Robach took this story to her superiors and they said, ‘I don’t know who Jeffrey Epstein is,’ his name was already all over the news as a convicted sex offender,” Carlson said to Pavlich.

“Yes, he had already been to prison,” she said.

“This all comes down to the Clintons, George Stephanopoulos working at ABC and the circle of connections they have there, and protecting not just the Clintons of course, because that is something they are willing to do for political purposes,” Pavlich continued.

“According to ABC’s editorial standards, which we keep hearing about, the standards aren’t necessarily about accusers bringing forward evidence on someone who had already been convicted of similar crimes, but instead to protect political people and friends who are beneficial to them and who have very, very close connections to people in their network who claim to be leading journalists, like George Stephanopoulos,” she elaborated.

“But it’s not just ABC,” Carlson noted. “The reaction has been fascinating in that MSNBC and CNN, both of which have media reporters, have essentially ignored the story.”

“Yeah, they are still not touching it,” Pavlich said, agreeing, as she speculated that the other networks appear to be effectively running cover for the Epstein story as well due to politics.

“We don’t have a smoking gun video as we do from Project Veritas with what ABC was doing,” she said. “I don’t know why they’re not covering it. Maybe because of political implications or who Jeffrey Epstein was connected to happens to be people who they have supported over the years and held fundraisers for and donated money to.”
