Tucker Carlson torched mainstream media outlets and CNN for their “breathless” coverage of the latest in the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump.
The Fox News host began “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Tuesday by diverting to a mocking look at impeachment coverage by other networks.

CNN and MSNBC spent most of their prime time coverage focused on the latest impeachment developments, including the release of revised testimony from Trump’s ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, which revealed that he recalled a quid pro quo discussed between the president and the Ukraine leader in their July phone conversation.
Carlson slammed the endless coverage of the development as he welcomed his viewers.
“But first I would like to open this evening with a breathless update about how some obscure diplomat you’ve never heard of said something forgettable to an even more obscure Ukrainian government official about a topic that literally has nothing to do with your life or the future of our country,” he said, not using Sondland’s name.
“We’re going to drone about this story for the entire hour tonight, and every night this week, hoping that by sheer volume and repetition we can give it the illusion of relevance,” Carlson added, before revealing the joke.
“Just kidding, that’s Jeff Zucker’s channel,” he said, referring to the CNN president. “On this show we’re opting for actual news, things that matter.”
He went on to cover brutal violence in Mexico which, on Monday, resulted in the death of nine Americans — mothers and children — who were tragically caught in the crossfire between two drug cartels. Carlson also teased that coming up, he would look at the story of leaked audio of an ABC News anchor speaking about the death of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The story of journalist and “20/20” co-host Amy Robach’s video released by Project Veritas, which showed her lamenting how reporting on Epstein was quashed by the network three years ago, was largely ignored by ABC, as well as CNN and MSNBC.
According to Media Research Center:
So, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Eastern, there have been 11 different CNN shows totaling 15 hours of programming without a single mention of the ABC News scandal, Epstein, O’Keefe, Robach, or Project Veritas.
For MSNBC, there were 15 different shows over 15 hours with nothing about this stunning development. During the 2:00 p.m. Eastern hour of MSNBC Live, there was a whole segment devoted to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll about President Trump’s job approval and hypothetical 2020 match-ups, but nothing about Epstein.
The media’s silence on Epstein while drilling the anti-Trump narrative was not lost on observers.
The relative silence about NBC spiking the Weinstein story and the fact that ABC/Epstein isn’t being treated as a massive scandal in the press right now are clear evidence that all of the “introspection” and posturing from the media the last 2 years was pure bullshit.

The media also largely ignored Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal front-page story: “Dow Hits a Record As U.S. Outpaces World,” while pushing the impeachment story.
