Huge honor! Trump to be first president in 100-yr history to lead Veteran’s Day parade in NYC

“Fox & Friends” hosted a discussion on military veterans ahead of November 11, and it included a massive surprise that is sure to make the pro-Trump audience cheer.

At the top of the segment, the crew teased a “big announcement” regarding the Veterans Day Parade, and boy was it big.

Marine Corps veteran and chairman of the United War Veterans Council Doug McGowan could hardly contain the smile on his face as he spilled the secret.

“On behalf of the NYC veteran community and the United War Veterans Council, I am proud to announce- honored to announce that the Commander in Chief as accepted our invitation and will be leading the New York City Veterans Day Parade the centennial this year on the 11th.”

“That has never happened before?” Doocy queried.

“The first time,” McGowan confirmed.

Founder of Constellations Group Bill White would go on to recount the time where President Trump — then a citizen — “wrote a ginormous check” and saved the parade.

“In 1993, almost 25 years ago, the parade was in difficult financial straits and the President of the United States – then ‘The Donald’ – no questions asked just said ‘yes, I’ll do it’ and he wrote a ginormous check, saved the Veterans Day Parade. He was honored at the Pentagon way back then. And he has been a friend to our veterans for many, many, many years.”

“We are so grateful to our president, we have a great commander-in-chief,” White continued. “There’s gonna be 30,000 veterans, 400 military units, the Marine Corps … and to have the president [and] the first lady come to New York on Veterans Day is a first. And it’s our 100th anniversary.”

McGowan revealed that every single year, the United War Veterans Council has invited the commander-in-chief to attend their parade, and this is the very first year that any of the presidents have accepted that invitation.

Perhaps increasing the excitement for President Trump’s visit is the fact that he has done so much for veterans’ healthcare, not just abandoning them at the VA.

“The president has done more for our veterans in the last 3 years than what so many of us have been trying to do for decades,” White reminded the audience. “The choice he’s giving veterans to be able to go to a doctor and not have to wait on a line, and potentially die. We lost a lot of veterans to that particular bad incidence at the VA. And he’s also getting rid of employees at the VA who aren’t taking care of veterans, so he’s doing a lot.”

The segment ended with McGowan inviting the “Fox & Friends” crew to the parade to interview President Trump and then providing each host with a commemorative coin.

This is a huge victory not only for the veteran community but also for the president, who was essentially forced to move his place of residence from New York where he was born and raised, citing exorbitant taxes and political harassment from the notoriously liberal leadership. As if on cue, famous New Yorkers came from out of the woodwork to wish the president a not-so-fond farewell, including Governor Andrew Cuomo who said “Good riddance.”

While the liberal elites of New York may have painted a scene where President Trump was universally denounced by every single person in the state, these gentlemen and their excitement and pride prove that this is not the case. Despite the snide, holier-than-thou attitudes of Cuomo, de Blasio, and their ilk, men like McGowan, White, and every veteran who will be in attendance prove that Trump is not hated in every corner of the world. To have the decency to pay respect and honor the vets who gave so much for our country, and to be the first-ever president to do that, says something about the commander-in-chief, and it’s a lot better than the hate being spewed by the left. The excitement in their voices as they discussed Trump’s role in their parade, and the way White fondly recalled Trump’s donation that saved the day when the parade was out of money, goes to show that there are still people out there who hold the office of the president, and the president himself, in high regard.

It’s clear which group Trump would rather spend his time with.
