The newest war on Fox News viewers: They’re all deluded, dumb and being manipulated everyday

Rep. Steve Cohen maligned Fox News and its viewers, calling out anyone who’s dismissed the impeachment inquiry as a partisan attack on President Trump.

The Tennessee Democrat defended his House colleagues and the impeachment inquiry, arguing on “MSNBC Live” on Sunday that critics of the effort have “been watching Fox News too much.”

Citing polling which shows marked division in the country over impeachment of the president, host Alex Witt asked Cohen about split views.

“What do you say to your constituents who says this whole investigation is just one big partisan endeavor?” Witt questioned the Democrat.

“Well, for most people who say that, they’ve been watching Fox News too much,” Cohen responded, slamming network personalities by name.

“Anybody that watches Fox News watches it too much. And these people watch it and they just eat it up and they buy all that stuff, and Hannity and what’s her name, Laura Ingraham or whatever,” Cohen said.

“Those people are in on it. They are co-conspirators with Trump,” he added. “That’s what’s wrong with our nation right now, that we’ve got such technology that people are siloed, and they’re siloed with Fox and they only get the Trump reports and they get people on there that have their futures tied to Trump,” Cohen said with a stunning lack of self-awareness.

“Society’s getting too separated for people to come together,” he continued, trying to make a point about how people don’t “get out and fraternize” in person anymore.

The congressman, who infamously brought chicken props to a House Judiciary Committee hearing in an attempt to mock Attorney General William Barr earlier this year, then declared that he felt sorry for Trump supporters.

“I just feel sorry for the people that are supporting Trump,” he said, mentioning evangelical Christians and citing emails he gets from people telling him that “God ordained that he be president. He is doing God’s work.”

“I think, wow, these people are deluded,” Cohen scoffed, claiming the president “can’t quote his favorite Bible passage.”

“He doesn’t know the New Testament from the Old Testament, and yet they somehow think that he is ordained by God,” Cohen rambled.

Since failed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton issued her infamous “deplorables” characterization, the left has continued to malign Trump supporters as some back-woods, uneducated class of people who can’t be trusted to even make decisions for themselves.

Former congressman Joe Walsh essentially claimed Americans who watch Fox News have “no clue” they are being lied to and “manipulated.”

CNN host Brian Stelter questioned the radio host and 2020 presidential contender about the  conservative media “firewall” that allegedly provides cover for Trump during the impeachment inquiry.

“The Americans who listen to Fox News and conservative talk radio are being lied to and manipulated every day when it comes to impeachment,” Walsh told Stelter on “Reliable Sources” Sunday.

“The vast majority of the American people understand that when it comes to Ukraine, [Trump] did something wrong. But those people who listen to the opinion shows on Fox and those people who listen my former world, conservative talk radio, they have no clue because they’re being told every day he’s done nothing wrong,” he claimed.

“You’ve got people like Hannity and Seb Gorka, they’ve got their noses way too far up the president’s butt to ever change. They’re gonna do what President Trump tells them to do,” he said, adding that the network “stopped booking me a year and a half or two years ago when I began criticizing the president.”

Meanwhile, social media users blasted Cohen for his disparaging comments and called him out on Twitter:
