A video of a Texas high school football team putting their patriotism on display for the world to see is going viral online.
Players from the Llano High School walked onto the playing field last month each carrying an American flag while Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” played for all to hear.
Theresa Warner shared the video on Facebook and wrote: “Thankful for all the men and women who serve in the arm [sic] services and the first responders, police officers and fire department.”
Check out the video and some screenshots from the game below:
The video has earned nearly a million and a half views as people excitedly share the patriotic display to all corners of social media. A separate post sharing the video on Facebook, also from Warner, has over 300,000 shares.
To put those numbers in more context, Warner sports 95 friends on Facebook. The video has clearly moved far beyond her friend group and fans of the Texas football team.
“Every sports team should accept this as a challenge to God please keep your hand on our nation,” one Facebook commenter wrote.
“Beautiful. Thank you from a proud Army veteran,” another commented.
“So proud of these young players that was just awesome,” said another.
Another commented, “So proud of these fine young athletes, coaches, support members of the team, the school, the administration and the town, city, village or township this school is in! SALUTE!”
“Most patriotic walkout of the year,” added a Twitter user.
“If you’re offended, then you need to go find a place that you are not offended by something that covers coffins of our fallen soldiers, fighting for this country,” another Twitter user wrote when sharing the story.
“Texas is a Great State. Respect for our military, police, fire and medical emergency response is given. They are honored and respected. This is an American place,” another tweeted.

While it may seem like a simple video of high school kids carrying American flags, there’s a reason a video like this is catching as much steam as it is right now. In a country where the culture is so divided and politicians gleefully talk about impeaching the president, it is more difficult than it should be to find blatant displays of passion for this great nation to which everyone belongs.
The fact that there are politicians constantly disparaging this country and working against its founding principles and it takes a bunch of high school kids to show us the humbling gratitude every citizen of this country should have shows have far we have sunk, culturally. Many public figures should be taking notes from these high school kids.
