“We will not legitimize the Schiff/Pelosi sham impeachment,” tweeted House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Monday after Nancy Pelosi announced a move to take a vote this week on the impeachment inquiry process. McCarthy and numerous other Republicans blasted the Democrats’ ongoing, bogus impeachment process that has, for more than a month now, been playing out behind closed doors and on liberal media platforms.
McCarthy wrote …
It’s been 34 days since Nancy Pelosi unilaterally declared her impeachment inquiry.
Today’s backtracking is an admission that this process has been botched from the start.
We will not legitimize the Schiff/Pelosi sham impeachment.

Speaker Pelosi sent out a “dear colleagues” letter to lawmakers on Monday saying that she plans to introduce a resolution on Tuesday to “ensure transparency” and “provide a clear path forward” in the impeachment inquiry.
Multiple sources reported that a vote on that resolution will be taken in the House Thursday. Among them, a tweet from Rep. Lee Zelden, who stated, “Pelosi now says there will be a vote Thu to authorize their impeachment inquiry. This should include minority subpoena rights, equal allocat. of staff, immediate release of all transcripts & more. POTUS’ counsel should be able to attend depos, present evidence & quest. witnesses.”

Blistering pushback came immediately from many other Republican leaders, such as Reps. Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan, and Mark Meadows who echoed the accusation that the whole impeachment inquiry is a “sham.”
Pelosi let Schiff hold secret hearings and leak misleading info to attack @realDonaldTrump for weeks.
Now she wants a vote to “formalize” a process that’s already tainted.
Dems aren’t trying to change their Soviet-style impeachment process, they’re formally endorsing it.

Pelosi announces they’ll finally vote to open the impeachment inquiry.
Codifying a sham process halfway through doesn’t make it any less of a sham process.

House Democrats now suddenly saying they’ll vote on an impeachment resolution to “ensure transparency” is rich—considering they’ve spent weeks conducting interviews in secret, leaking their own talking points while locking down any and all information that benefits the President

We’ve just learned House Democrats are moving the public impeachment hearings to the Intelligence Committee — taking it out of the normal jurisdiction (Judiciary Committee), cutting out GOP members who have spent the majority of time questioning witnesses till now
This is a sham

Washington Democrats’ secret impeachment interviews continue to fall flat behind closed doors, and now they’re trying to reverse course on the process to try and save face. Americans won’t buy it.
I’ll be on with @seanhannity at 9:00pm to discuss. Hope you’ll tune in.

In a post on their website entitled “Democrats to put lipstick on a pig,” the GOP denounced Pelosi’s intention to at this point call for a House vote:
A so-called “formal vote” does not change the fact Democrats have shredded the Constitution to get to this point and have leaked, lied, and hid behind closed doors from day one.
Their impeachment sham has been illegitimate from the beginning.
In a sign about how messed up the Democrats’ priorities are, they’re voting on this charade before voting to pass the USMCA, before the bipartisan lowering of prescription drug prices, before combatting the opioid crisis, and before funding infrastructure improvements.
Senator Lindsey Graham appeared on “Hannity” Monday evening where Fox News host Sean Hannity gave him credit for Pelosi’s scrambling move to try to legitimize the impeachment process.
“I believe that whatever procedural vote the House is going to do is because of you,” said Hannity. “You said excuse me, if you’re going to do a secret Soviet-style impeachment coup attempt behind closed doors led by a corrupt, coward, compromised Schiff, it’s dead on arrival in the Senate. Let’s say they try to legitimize it at this point. The last person that ever wants a so-called whistleblower to testify would be the coward Schiff because if he does that they might ask questions about what was the contact with you and your office, what’s the relationship with you and Joe Biden? Will the Senate demand answers to those questions, sir?”
“Absolutely. Number one, impeachment based on the phone call between President Trump and the Ukrainian president is dead on arrival in the Senate,” Graham responded. “He did nothing wrong. I have seen no evidence of misconduct by the president at all. This whole thing is a sham. Here is what I’m going to say. They vote Thursday. What kind of process do they give the president? Will he be able to defend himself? Why did you pick the Intel committee versus the Judiciary Committee? If you are going to start this process in the Intel Committee, it is incumbent on every American to know who the whistleblower is because without the whistleblower there would be no inquiry. So I hope Richard Burr and our Senate colleagues will allow the president to know who his accuser is, the whistleblower, and find out if they have any bias.”
