‘Aren’t they cute?’ Lou Dobbs strikes back after Chris Matthews attacks

Fox Business host Lou Dobbs fired a dismissive shot back at Chris Matthews after the MSNBC host mocked his support of President Trump.

Dobbs laughed off the insults from the “Hardball” host who likened his on-air praise of the president to watching “North Korean state TV.”

“If you want to know what coverage makes Trump feel beautiful and powerful, just look at his Twitter page,” Matthews said Friday, reacting to a Daily Beast article titled: “Trump Cuts Out Media That Doesn’t ‘Make Him Feel Beautiful.'”

“This morning he tweeted a quote from Fox Business anchor and informal adviser, Lou Dobbs,” Matthews said, sharing the president’s tweet from Friday morning.

Matthews emphasized Dobbs’ reference to Trump as “an absolutely historic president,” with the words highlighted in the graphic of the tweet shown on the air.

“Dobbs has been a vocal defender of the president with comments that sound much more like you would expect to hear on North Korean state TV,” he added, before playing a montage of video clips showing Dobbs praising Trump over several different shows.

Comedian and host of “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah, took a similar jab at Dobbs just last month.

Author Ron Reagan chimed in after Matthews continued bashing the president and Dobbs, calling the host of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” the “most ridiculous figure on Fox.”

At the end of his Fox Business show on Friday, Dobbs responded to the insults.

“As we wrap up, I wanted to share, another network decided to take a shot at me, comparing my coverage of President Trump to North Korean state TV,” he said as he set up the video clip, mocking the “insight” from Reagan.

“Aw, look at those fellas,” Dobbs said after the clip. “Aren’t they cute? You know, there is another saying those folks ought to understand. I understand that every dog has his fleas, and that tells you who those folks are.”
