Obama’s former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper seemed to struggle with his poker face as he reacted to news of a DOJ criminal inquiry.
The current CNN contributor spoke with Anderson Cooper about reports of the transition of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review into the origins of the Russia probe into a criminal investigation. And his body language spoke louder than his words.

“What do you make of this,” the CNN host asked on “Anderson Cooper 360.”
“Well, I’m very curious because presumably, I guess I’m one of those under investigation,” Clapper replied, peppering his sentence with several uses of “uh.”
“And you just heard about this?” Cooper asked, referring to the latest developments in the Justice Department’s review of the Russia investigation, with a reported shift to a criminal probe making it possible for the federal prosecutor to subpoena witnesses for testimony and documents, to file criminal charges, and to impanel a grand jury if needed.
The initial investigation into potential FBI and Justice Department misconduct related to the Trump 2016 presidential campaign has been expanding, with reports indicating that Durham has been interested in interviewing Clapper, along with former CIA Director John Brennan and other former Obama administration intelligence officials.
“I just read a clip about 20 minutes ago,” Clapper told Cooper. “Um, I found the timing interesting, given the increasing heat around the impeachment inquiry, and so, it, uh, the timing’s interesting – I’ll just let it go at that.”
“And the other thing I wonder about is whether we’re talking about the overall investigation of Russian, reporting on the Russian interference or are we talking about the counterintelligence investigation that was launched in July by the FBI.”
“What is the alleged criminal activity that prompted this?” he mused.
Cooper questioned what information could have been discovered that “would rise to the level of a criminal offense.”
“No, I don’t. That’s uh, obviously an item of great interest to me,” he replied. “What is it that any of us did that would rise to the level of a criminal infraction, I just don’t know.”
Hard to believe Clapper’s feigned innocence given the rumblings over the past few weeks and with a stunning filing this week submitted by Sidney Powell, the attorney for former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Powell claimed that Clapper told The Washington Post’s David Ignatius to “take the kill shot on Flynn” just before running with the story.

Clapper’s remarks to Cooper were slammed on Twitter where users called out his questionable body language and stammering comments.
???
My, oh my. Clapper seems a little nervous.Buddy, it’s called sedition and treason when you try to overthrow a sitting US President. #Coup pic.twitter.com/Kbgdvowrn0

The non-stop uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uhms, the darting eyes and the constant shifting in his seat….I would say he definitely looks very uncomfortable. Wonder why?

They say the timing is interesting but this whole investigation started before Trump even had that conversation with Ukraine.

The timing? ?We’ve been waiting for this report for about 9 months. The impeachment “inquiry” shenanigans are put on specifically to give the far left print/legacy media something to report on other than the shit that about to go down regarding the prior admins treasonous acts.

Lots of stammering. I think he has a lot on his mind and many legal hours to pay. Attempted failed coup may be very expensive for the participants.
