Hannity points out what everyone is ignoring: ‘Do us a favor’ is one of Trump’s ‘go-to phrases’

Sean Hannity slammed Democrats for the “Soviet-style attempted impeachment coup” and defended President Trump over his July call with Ukraine’s leader.

The Fox News host dismissed accusations of quid pro quo by the president in that call amid a focus in the released transcript of Trump telling Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to “do us a favor.”

“Where is the crime here?” he asked on “Hannity” Tuesday.

He reiterated that there should be gratitude to Trump for “getting to the bottom of the DNC colluding with Ukraine to interfere in the 2016 elections to help Hillary” before going on to point out the president’s remark in the call with Zelensky.

According to the released transcript of the July phone call that triggered the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, Trump used the word “favor” in his conversation with the Ukraine leader.

“I would like you to do us a favor, though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine,” he said.

Despite denials by the president and even Zelensky about any quid pro quo, Democrats have been relentlessly pursuing their efforts to take down Trump. Hannity blew their arguments out of the water Tuesday, highlighting multiple examples of the president’s frequent use of “do us a favor” and similar phrases.

“There were no strings attached. Zero quid pro quo,” he said of the call.

“During the call, the government of Ukraine had no idea the U.S. had temporarily delayed aid. They still got the aid. Plus, the aid was never attached to anything. Nothing. And that’s clear in the transcripts,” Hannity said.

“And let’s be clear, the term ‘do us a favor.’ Well, we all have go-to phrases. ‘You know,’ I say, ‘you know,’ a lot. The president uses them all the time. A verbal aside,” he continued.

Hannity went on to prove his point by running several video clips of the president making similar remarks.

“She just did me a beautiful favor,” Trump said in one excerpt, and, “I said fellas, do me a favor.”

“You’re doing us a favor. It’s a great job you’re doing,” he said in another clip.

“They called us and said could you possibly make it another day? We delayed it took a week so we did them a favor but they are doing us a favor but they are buying a lot of agricultural products,” Trump said, followed by another video in which he remarked, “I said ‘can you do me a favor? The remains of these great fallen heroes, can we do something?'”

“Like ‘big league’ for the president,” Hannity said. “To recap: the term ‘do me a favor,’ that’s a phrase the president uses, we’ve identified, hundreds of times.”

“No conditions whatsoever. You can look at the transcript of the phone call. No quid pro quo. Look at the transcript. No high crimes, no misdemeanor, no bribery, no treason,” he continued.

“That doesn’t matter to the left and their friends in the mob. They are obsessed with impeaching this president ever since you, the American people, shocked the world in 2016 and I hope you shock the world again in 2020. They started with the word impeachment two days after Election Day,” Hannity said, noting how every investigation into alleged collusion has turned up “empty.”

“Now we have this secret Soviet-style attempted impeachment coup that is just the latest pathetic attempt by people that never accepted the results of the 2016 election and want to influence the next election,” he said.
