Animated 2-yr-old expresses utter disbelief to dad over mom running off to work without a goodbye kiss

A Florida mom rushed back to work after a soccer game without kissing her 2-year-old son goodbye and the young tyke was incredulous over the slight.

In an age where our politics have become so polarizing and divisive, and the news cycle is full of negativity, the story of a Jacksonville toddler’s expectations reminds us of the really important things in life.

Like a goodbye kiss.

“After Alexander’s soccer practice I was in such a hurry to get back to work and my baby Alex was very upset he didn’t get the proper goodbye,” Diana Simos said earlier this month on Facebook.

“He had a lot to say and my husband got it all on video,” she added.

To be fair, the husband may have been guilty of egging the boy on just a bit… all in good humor, of course.

“She didn’t give you a kiss?” Diana’s husband Christos asked their son, helping him articulate his disbelief.

“And she just went to work?” Christos added. “What kind of mama does that?!”

“I don’t know!” Alexander replied.

The hashtags included offer a good clue to how mom felt about it all: #brokemyheart #imadeituptohimthough #babyismad #icantstopwatching #lovemylittleman.

Being a stout young man, Alexander was not only protesting his own misfortune, he took up the cause of his newborn sister and dad, who were apparently also deprived of mom’s affections.

Given the youngster’s range of facial expressions, can there be any doubt that he will one day be an actor?

The reaction to the endearing video was just as good.

“Mommy u are in big trouble when you get home,” one Facebook wrote. “This is sooo sooo precious, this is a memory to keep forever this little boy is just too smart.”

“That was adorable and I hope momma doesn’t forget to kiss those babies anymore,” another said.

“So Cute! Sometimes mommies get in such a rush that we don’t realize we’ve missed an important thing like our precious goodbye kiss before leaving… I’m sure mommy gave him lots of kisses when she got home,” wrote another Facebook user.

Dad had his share of comments, as well.

“The Dad seems pretty cool too,” a social media user said. “In a lighthearted way, he validated and helped the little guy express his feelings. Too cute.”

Perhaps, the moral of this story is for all of us to slow down a bit, and make sure we take care of the important things — and important people — in our lives.
