Hannity: Whistleblower case turns into another ‘spectacular fail,’ falls apart for Dems, media

Fox News host Sean Hannity appears confident that, much like the Russian collusion delusion conspiracy theory, the whistleblower non-scandal is now officially another “spectacular political fail.”

“Democrats’, the media mob’s Ukrainian impeachment fantasy is, as we predicted, now blowing up in their faces just like the Trump Russia collusion blew up in their faces,” he said during his opening monologue Friday evening.

The monologue occurred hours after, one, the Democrats’ impeachment narrative against President Donald Trump was blown to smithereens on multiple fronts, and two, the Democrat leading the charge against the president was exposed as a liar.

Listen to the whole monologue below:

“Tonight you will notice a common theme in this show,” Hannity continued. “The corruption, the hypocrisy, the deceit of both the Democratic Party and their allies — frankly, their stenographers, the media mob — every accusation they make, every attack, every smear, every slander, every one of them is nothing more than mere projection. They are the ones guilty of real collusion and corruption with Ukraine just like the bought and paid for Russian dossier full of lies in 2016.”

During the last presidential election, the Democrat National Committee and then-Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton paid a shady firm, Fusion GPS, to prepare a dossier of dirt on Trump. This firm, in turn, contracted British spy Christopher Steele to dig up this dirt. Steele in turn then reached out to his contacts within the Russian government to obtain this dirt.

“They’re the ones guilty of conspiracy, they’re the ones out there — you have Joe Biden leveraging your tax dollars in an obvious quid pro quo, in a shakedown to fire a Ukrainian prosecutor; why would a vice president of the United States ever want to do that? — and the ones that colluded with Ukraine, as Politico pointed out January 11, 2017, in the 2016 election,” Hannity added.

The second claim about collusion with Ukraine was correct.

“Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office,” Politico reported in 2017. “They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election.”

Here’s the relevant part: “And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers.” The Democrat National Committee reportedly took part in the collusion as well.

But Hannity’s first claim about 2020 contender former Vice President Joe Biden remains unconfirmed, though the president has asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into the matter. It’s this request that triggered Democrats into launching an impeachment inquiry against him. Despite evidence to the contrary, they argue the request was made to hurt Biden in the 2020 race.

“President Trump has committed zero crime,” the FNC host said of the Democrats’ accusations. “Zero impeachable offenses, and the Democrats and the mob’s baseless claims are unraveling this hour.”

They were, in fact, unraveling at light speed. Late Friday, The Federalist obtained a transcript of a congressional hearing held Thursday with former U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker. And the contents of the transcript did not look good for Democrats and their impeachment narrative.

“Congressional testimony from the former top American envoy to Ukraine directly contradicts the impeachment narrative offered by congressional Democrats and their media allies,” The Federalist reported.

“Volker … testified on Thursday that he was never aware of and never took part in any effort to push the Ukrainian government to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden or his son Hunter. He also stressed that the interactions between Giuliani and Ukrainian officials were facilitated not to find dirt on Biden, but to assuage concerns that the incoming Ukrainian government would not be able to get a handle on corruption within the country.”

Moreover, a batch of Trump administration text messages have been released, and the messages appear to back the president’s claim that his request was made out of concerns about corruption. They further prove that the request wasn’t tied to a quid pro quo offer.

“We have newly obtained text messages from the U.S. Ambassador to the E.U., Gordon Sondland, and casting even more doubt on the left’s Ukraine hoax,” Hannity explained.

“In a group message with other diplomats — this is from September — Sondland shoots down any speculation about a political quid pro quo.”

“I believe you are incorrect about President Trump’s intentions,” Sondland wrote in a text message sent in early September to Bill Taylor, the top US diplomat at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.

“The president has been crystal clear no quid pro quos of any kind. The president is trying to evaluate whether Ukraine is truly going to adopt the transparency and the reforms that president Zelensky promised during his campaign.”

Here’s a screenshot of the whole exchange:

“So let’s get this straight: The U.S. special envoy to Ukraine — he says, nope, he doesn’t believe the president did anything wrong. Then the U.S. ambassador to the E.U. — he doesn’t think the president did anything wrong,” Hannity said

Yet Democrats do.

“The Democrats want to remove a duly-elected president over what, exactly?” the host continued. “What? Because they don’t like him? We have an election in a year. …”

“Republicans are daring [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and the president is daring Pelosi to hold an actual real vote [on impeachment]. I second and third the motion. Without a doubt, this is turning out to be another spectacular political fail for Democrats and their allies and stenographers in the media, the mob. And what’s more, it’s boomeranging like Russia, Russia, Russia and exposing their own obscene level of corruption.”

It appears so. Ukraine’s top prosecutor announced during a press conference Friday that he intends to conduct an audit of the Ukrainian government’s past investigation into Burisma, the corruption-linked gas company tied to Biden and his son Hunter.

Many suspect that the reason he’s launched an investigation isn’t because of Trump’s original request but rather because of all the attention that Democrats wound up bringing to the request.

Whoops!
