RNC chair to Dems: We’re coming for your vulnerable seats in 2020

The Republican National Committee has warned congressional Democrats that they’ll pay a steep price come 2020 for their growing radicalism, their refusal to accept the 2016 presidential election results, and their impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump.

“Democrats want to turn everything in their favor. They’ve talked about getting rid of the Electoral College, changing the voting age to 16, stacking the Supreme Court, and now they’re trying to overturn an election through Congress through this ridiculous impeachment inquiry,” RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said during an appearance Monday evening on Fox News.

What I’m going to say to Nancy Pelosi is we’re coming for these Democrats in districts where President Trump won. We’re starting an ad campaign.

There are reportedly at least 31 Democrats up for reelection next year in districts that the president won during the 2016 presidential election.

“Many of these Democrats said they wouldn’t vote for Nancy Pelosi,” the RNC chairwoman continued. “They lied to their constituents that way. And then they said we’re going to work with Republicans, we’re going to work with this president. And now they’re backing this phony impeachment inquiry.”

“We’re doing ad campaigns and we’re going to put pressure on these Democrats because we’re going to take back the House, keep the Senate and re-elect the president.”

FNC host Martha MacCallum responded by pointing out that the RNC has been raising a lot of money as of late: “I know there’s been a lot of money raised in the Republican Party over the last several days during all of this impeachment discussion.”

“Look into your crystal ball a little bit here. Do you think … it ends up being a positive, does it galvanize support on your side?” she then asked of the Democrats’ impeachment efforts.

McDaniel responded by arguing that, while the Democrats’ push for impeachment is an “overall negative” for America, there’s no way to deny the positives it’s engendering for Republicans.

“For Republicans, it’s energized our base,” she said. “We’ve raised over $15 million since this started, we’re seeing massive enthusiasm — our volunteers are energized; they recognize what the Democrat Party is doing — and I think in the end, it’s going to help us win the election.”

But, she reiterated, it is indeed sad that the Democrats would stoop so low.

“It’s sad for our country,” she said. “It’s sad that Nancy jumped the gun. It’s sad to see Adam Schiff come out and make a false statement and make a fictional opening statement about something as serious as an impeachment inquiry. This is not what the American people want.”

Her discussion with MacCallum concluded with her addressing suggestions from failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and others that Trump somehow stole the 2016 election.

“[I]t’s very frightening to see Democrats continue to undermine our democracy and undermine the election of 2016. And this has been their playbook: Let’s undermine the legitimacy of President Trump’s win,” she said.

“I was the chair of Michigan when President Trump won our state in a historic one. There are no shenanigans here. What happened is Hillary Clinton was a terrible candidate. She didn’t show up in our state, and she didn’t have a message that resonated.”

That hasn’t stopped Clinton and others from suggesting that more nefarious reasons were to blame for her loss. In a CBS interview over the weekend, she blamed her loss on “funny things” happening:

She also reportedly called Trump an “illegitimate president.” Others have echoed this dangerously conspiratorial rhetoric, including even former Democrat President Jimmy Carter.

“I think a full investigation would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election, and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf,” he said during an event over the summer.

That was a complete lie, yet the media made no attempts to fact-check him.

Meanwhile, former Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder is now claiming without evidence that Republicans will somehow cheat in 2020.

“It’s going to be hard [to win in 2020] because the reality is that Republicans are going to cheat,” he said during a radio interview Monday. “They’re going to try to keep people away from the polls. They’re going to move polling places. They’re going to do a whole variety of things.”

As for the media, they’re now claiming that if Trump loses the 2020 presidential election, he won’t accept the results.

McDaniel concluded her discussion Monday evening by arguing that all Democrats seem to care for is trying to stop the president from “Making America Great Again.”

“Donald Trump gets to go into 2020 saying your wages are up, jobs have come back, our country is on the rise again because of tax cuts and deregulation — and Democrats have fought me every step of the way.”
