Twitter war: Chelsea Clinton takes on Trump with juvenile ‘I know you are’

Chelsea Clinton jumped into the Ukraine whistleblower debate with a bit of childish snark aimed at President Donald Trump.

Chelsea, daughter of Bill and Hillary, responded to a tweet of the president’s where he slammed the investigations into his phone call with the Ukrainian president as “the greatest scam in the history of American politics.”

Clinton responded by simply saying, “Yes, you are.”

Welcome to politics in 2019 where instead of talking facts and policy, childish insults on Twitter are the new schoolyard playgrounds.

Chelsea’s Twitter-play garnered plenty of praises from leftists — but Twitter can be cruel and the exchange had just begun.

Inquisitr even wrote up a bizarre story praising Clinton’s tweet because it got more “likes” than the tweet Trump put out. As of this writing, Clinton’s tweet as over a quarter million “likes” and over 37,000 retweets. Trump’s tweet she responded to has over 100,000 likes and over 20,000 retweets.

“Chelsea Clinton Taunts President Donald Trump Via Twitter & Her Post Gets More Than Twice As Many ‘Likes,'” Inquisitr’s headline proudly announced about the small Twitter spat.

If we’re playing the numbers game, we might as well play all the way. Trump has over 60 million Twitter followers, and Clinton has two and a half million. The president’s tweets regularly get more likes and retweets, but he’s been tweeting and retweeting a lot more recently and almost exclusively on the same subject — Ukraine. This has likely led to his followers feeling less of a need to like and retweet every tweet he puts out.

Numbers aside — because who cares at the end of the day? — let’s talk about the real reason Clinton wants to throw herself into this clown show of a debate. She is currently promoting a book co-written with her totally not-corrupt mother Hillary.

The book is titled “The Book of Gutsy Women” and it releases on October 1. What perfect timing for Clinton to try her hand at making some headlines.

“Gutsy Women” tells the stories of women from history who have inspired Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. The mother and daughter duo will soon be headed onto “The View” to promote the book, and you can bet Trump will come up plenty.

“This book is the continuation of a conversation the two of us have been having since I was little. For me, too, my mom was a hero; so were my grandmothers,” Chelsea Clinton said about “Gutsy Women,” according to the Simon and Schuster website.

Chelsea Clinton has authored multiple books, and readers will likely be indulged with another if Trump chooses to engage her via Twitter in a war she likely cannot win.
