Trump takes aim: Democrats are targeting your freedom

In his latest video message to the American people, President Donald Trump warned that the whistleblower “scam” is a blatant attempt by Democrats and their allies to remove him from office so that they can retake the White House and then “take away your freedom.”

“What’s going on now is the single greatest scam in the history of American politics,” his message began. “The Democrats want to take away your guns, they want to take away your health care, they want to take away your vote, they want to take away your freedom, they want to take away your judges, they want to take away everything.”

“We can never let this happen. We’re fighting to drain the swamp, and that’s exactly what I’m doing. And you see why we have to do it — because our country is at stake like never before. It’s all very simple; they’re trying to stop me because I am fighting for you, and I’ll never let that happen.”

Listen to the message, which was posted to Twitter late Saturday evening, below:

The video was posted only days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi formally launched an impeachment inquiry against the president over the whistleblower non-scandal.

Two days after Pelosi launched the inquiry on Tuesday, House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff then dragged Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire in front of Congress to harangue him over his handling of the episode.

Though findings from both Thursday’s hearing and the Trump administration’s release of related documents — including a copy of the partisan whistleblower complaint, as well as a transcript of Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — have debunked the allegations against him, the left has only doubled down further.

“This is a cover-up … We are at a different level of lawlessness that is self-evident to the American people. We have a heightened responsibility to act upon those facts,” Pelosi said to reporters on Thursday.

As of Sunday, it still wasn’t clear what exactly Trump was covering up. Nor had any actual acts of “lawlessness” been identified.

Available for review below, the whistleblower complaint accuses the president of pressuring Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden during a phone call earlier in the summer.

But a transcript of the call released on Wednesday disproves this narrative. It shows that the president never pressured Zelensky to investigate Biden over possible corruption. He merely asked him to consider looking into the alleged corruption of not only Biden but also certain Ukrainian officials who’d reportedly made efforts to affect the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The insistent, stubborn refusal by Democrats to acknowledge the actual facts raises questions regarding their motivation. What is it exactly they seek? According to a campaign ad posted by the president on Friday, it’s to “steal” the 2020 election by essentially knocking the GOP front runner out of the race.

“[W]hen President Trump asks Ukraine to investigate corruption, the Democrats want to impeach him, and their media laptops fall in line. They lost the election; now, they want to steal this one. Don’t let them,” the campaign ad’s narrator says.

Listen here:

There’s no way to confirm Democrats’ true intentions, though the behavior of them and their allies in the media does appear to indicate a desire to alter the next election. Note for instance their calls to abolish the Electoral College and remove Trump from the ballot.

Evidence also shows that they’ve tried to essentially roll back the results of the 2016 election. They protested Trump’s inauguration, peddled the bizarre Russia collusion delusion conspiracy theories and are now peddling an even more bizarre Ukrainian conspiracy theory.

Dovetailing back to the president’s video message, is there any legitimacy though to his claims that the Democrats “want to take away” the American people’s guns, health care, freedom, vote, and judges? The answer is a resounding yes.

Democrats have shown an interest in rolling back Second Amendment rights, eliminating private health insurance, undoing the 2016 election, and impeaching Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Regarding “freedom,” which is a nebulous term, Democrats have displayed an interest in regulating free speech.

“I would love to be able to regulate the content of speech,” current Democratic Policy and Communications Committee co-chair Rep. Ted Lieu admitted on CNN last December.

If anything, the president’s message to the American people may have been too watered down, in that it neglected to include other examples of Democrat radicalism such as their desire to:

  • Provide free healthcare to illegal aliens.
  • Decriminalize illegal border crossings.
  • Pack the Supreme Court.
  • End the legislative filibuster.
  • Etc.

However, Trump has previously referenced some of these desires in his tweets:
