Palm Beach County teacher ‘reassigned’ after calling President Trump an ‘idiot’ on student test

Granted, it’s Palm Beach County, Florida, where Democrats struggle to accurately count votes and protect school children, but the Trump Derangement Syndrome on display at a middle school still catches you by surprise.

A Watson B. Duncan Middle School teacher was “reassigned” after giving students a quiz that described President Donald Trump as an “idiot,” WPBF reported.

The quiz contained a multiple-choice question asking students to pick the person in question based on a series of descriptions.

The descriptions were “45th Pres,” “2017,” “Republican,” “Real Estate businessman,” and “Idiot.”

The available answers were Trump, former Presidents Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, and Jimmy Carter.

A parent who wished to remain anonymous told the ABC affiliate it was “an obvious example of indoctrination.”

“My daughter was doing her homework at the dinner table and she said to me, ‘Daddy, you gotta see this question.’ I took one look and it was very unacceptable,” he said. “It’s an obvious example of indoctrination at our school system where teachers are forcing their opinions on our children. This is the first time I actually saw it in writing. It’s quite a different thing than when I hear it verbally.”

Another “furious” parent, Cam Cary, shared the question on social media.

“This was an actual question on my daughters middle school test today,” the tweet read. “Furious. Going to raise some hell with the principle. Indoctrination will not continue. (See word “idiot” at the end of our presidents multiple choice answer). Not having it!”

In a series of other tweets, Cary detailed what he said has been happening since the quiz came to light.

“The teacher is being disciplined through a school investigation,” he tweeted. “She is being walked off the campus as we speak.”

The parent noted that the teacher didn’t appear to write the quiz, but selected it from “a quizlet selected by a pool and done electronically” — he also suggested the teacher knew the question was part of the quiz.

Quizlet is a web-based study application that employs digital flashcards, games and tests to educate children.

The software company said in a statement: “Study sets on Quizlet are created by individual users, each of whom controls both the content of the study material itself, as well as who can view and edit study content they have created.”

Watson B. Duncan Middle School principal Phillip D’Amico released a statement to parents apologizing for the quiz and informing them an investigation of the incident was underway and that the teacher had been reassigned — whatever that means.

“A question on a quiz given by your child’s Computer Applications teacher yesterday, was brought to my attention this morning,” the release said, according to WPBF. “The question was inappropriate, and demonstrated an unacceptable lack of good judgement on the part of the teacher. An investigation is now underway, and the teacher has been reassigned during this process.”

“Because this is an open inquiry, I am not at liberty to share any additional details with you at this point,” D’Amico continued. “I apologize for this incident, and for the offensive verbiage used in the question. Thank you for your patience, and your continued support of Watson B. Duncan Middle School.”

BPR President Jack Furnari reached out to D’Amico on Friday to get an update on when the inquiry will be completed. He asked why the name of the teacher is being kept a big secret. We are waiting for a reply.
