Melania rocks 2 show-stopping dresses ; POTUS shares video of exquisite evening with Australian PM

First Lady Melania Trump impressed the world twice Friday with her choice of lavish attire — first during the arrival of Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his wife, Jenny, to the White House, and then during their state dinner together in the Rose Garden.

For the first event, Melania wore “a baby blue dress” from the Australian label Scanlan Theodore that retails for $800, according to Footwear News.

Her shoes were just as fashionable.

“Melania chose a sky-high pair of stilettos from Manolo Blahnik, one of her most frequent shoe designer choices. The shoes featured a skinny stiletto heel and a shimmering iridescent snakeskin pattern,” the footwear-oriented blog confirmed.

She completed the look by letting her hair fly free.

The president reportedly welcomed the couple to the White House for a week-long visit.

It was at the state dinner later that evening that Melania again stunned the world.

“The pair met at the White House where Mr Morrison was greeted with a military band and a 19-gun salute,” the BBC reported. “The two are close politically and have lavished praise on one another.”

“Mr Morrison is just the second world leader to be given a state dinner by President Trump after France’s Emmanuel Macron. Mr Morrison and Mr Trump both heralded the decades-long relationship between their two countries as the Australian PM arrived at the White House.”

This time Melania upgraded to a far more expensive ensemble — namely, a $6,000 “J Mendel seafoam green gown with a high neck and transparent sleeves,” according to USA Today.

The dress was reportedly “embellished with vertical rows of bias-cut wavy ruffles falling to a skirt with narrow pleats.”

Also in attendance at the lavish dinner were Australian golfer Greg Norman; Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch; Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs and his wife, Debi; fellow FBN host Maria Bartiromo and her husband, Jonathan Steinberg; former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani; and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway.

But they weren’t alone. Here are some of the others who also took part:

For the dinner, the Trumps, the Morrisons, and their guests reportedly dined on sunchoke ravioli, Dover sole, and Lady apple tarts — and “sipped fruity Napa and Australian wines as U.S. military bands played in the background,” according to USA Today.

According to a statement released by Melania’s office prior to the dinner, the night’s colors, decor and menu were “carefully selected by the First Lady to reflect the strong ties between the United States and Australia.”

“The colors chosen for this visit are green and gold, which are the Australian national colors. These colors were derived from the national flower of Australia, the golden wattle, which has a yellow flower and green foliage,” the statement reads.

“The dinner is being held in the Rose Garden, which will be filled with American varieties of yellow and white roses. Gold woven baskets filled with yellow garden roses and golden wattle signify the combined friendship and long-lasting relationship between the United States and Australia.”
