2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson admits having trouble coming to terms with reality as she has realized some things about her Democrat party that surprise her.
In a hot-mic episode last week after an interview with Eric Bolling on Sinclair’s “America This Week” she expressed her latest revelation to an aide, marveling at how nice conservatives are.
“What does it say that Fox News is nicer to me than the lefties are?” she said. “What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? … It’s such a bizarre world.
“You know, I’m such a lefty,” she continued. “I mean, I’m a serious lefty. I understand why the people on the right call me godless.
“I didn’t think the left was as mean as the right. They are.”
Rather than simply release the hot-mic recording as a timely attention-grabbing news item after it happened, Bolling allowed Williamson to come back on his show days later to provide her explanation for her comments as they were being broadcast for the first time.
Given that chance, the candidate obviously thought better of fully burning bridges with her party and did the political two-step, trying to backtrack just a bit.
“When it comes to … the rough and tumble of politics and how people behave,” she said, “I think that there are things that happen just in people. It’s not a left-right issue, and I have found it’s tough out there. And I was just talking about the fact that that day you were certainly very kind to me. And listen, many people on the left are kind to me.”
“I’m running for president. It’s not a walk in the park,” continued Williamson. “I was making a comment that I found my life that day… you know, the Republicans don’t have to be attacking me right now. I’m in a Democratic primary, so Republicans are, ‘Hi, Marianne,’ whereas some people on the left, because they’re working for other candidates — I understand how it goes, that’s all I meant.”

As “out there” as the Democrats are, their first-ever New Age guru presidential candidate gets her share of ridicule and venom from those within her party.
Before her first interview with Bolling, on September 4th, Williamson sent out a tweet that read: “The Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas…may all be in our prayers now. Millions of us seeing Dorian turn away from land is not a wacky idea; it is a creative use of the power of the mind. Two minutes of prayer, visualization, meditation for those in the way of the storm.”
After being mocked far and wide by the left, she removed the tweet.
Williamson said she regretted taking the tweet down, despite attacks from “all the trolls.”
“What could be more traditional than to talk about praying?” Williamson told Bolling. “I’ll tell you something, and I’m a Democrat, but if we want to expand our base, we really need to drop any condescending attitudes toward people of faith.”
“Mocking someone for suggesting that we pray, whether it comes from the left or the right — it’s not good,” she continued. “When you’re a person of faith, this doesn’t mean you’re less intelligent, it doesn’t mean you don’t believe in science, it doesn’t mean that you’re uninformed. It means … you believe the power of prayer is a power as well.”
In another example of her ongoing process of becoming more aware of who the leftists are, Williamson again admitted her surprise at who she is rubbing elbows within the grimy progressive pit of party politics. “I know this sounds naive,” Williamson told The New Yorker last week, but “I didn’t think the left was so mean. I didn’t think the left lied like this.”
Days later, in a meeting with the press in New Hampshire, she reflected: “A smug self-righteous intolerant left winger is just as dangerous to this country as a smug self-righteous intolerant right-winger.”

She seems genuinely amazed, doesn’t she? But clearly, conservatives are amazed that she is amazed.
