The Democratic Party’s favorability ratings among Americans have tumbled amid growing civil wars over the party’s direction.
Radical leftist newcomers like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are pulling the party to the far-left, and voters don’t like the new direction.
Even the New York Times called the move “out of step” with Americans, most of whom are centrists/moderates — not radicals to the far-left or the far-right.
According to a new Pew Research Center survey, 52% of Americans currently hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic party. That’s a 10-point spike from September 2018, when 42% viewed the party unfavorably.
That’s shocking when you consider that the mainstream media are overwhelmingly left-wing and tend to report more positively on Democrats than on Republicans.
Meanwhile, the Republican Party’s unfavorability ratings remained unchanged from last year — holding steady at 52%.
According to a damning column in the New York Times, the Democratic Party’s undoing is its own fault.
New York Times columnist David Leonhardt blasted the flailing Democratic Party for wasting its time focusing on radical ideas like open borders and slavery reparations that alienate most American voters.
“Recent polls suggest that the Democrats really are increasing the chances Trump will win re-election,” Leonhardt lamented.
The Pew poll shows that — contrary to Democratic talking points — 67% of Americans oppose decriminalizing illegal border crossings which are causing the flood of illegal aliens into the United States.
Similarly, 55% of Americans oppose replacing private insurance with a government insurance plan like Obamacare.
Moreover, a whopping 63% of Americans oppose slavery reparations. Reparations are a hot-button issue being championed by race-baiting leftists like Al Sharpton.
Sharpton recently pressured all the Democratic presidential candidates to promise that if elected, they would force all Americans to pay slavery reparations to black Americans.
However, as BizPac Review reported, former ACLU executive Michael Meyers warned black voters to not fall for the Democratic Party’s slavery reparations “scam.”
Meyers said Democrats are trying to bribe black voters again by dusting off the old leftist talking point of promising slavery reparations.
However, he called the left’s “Blame Whitey” hustle a big, fat lie. He said it’s merely a scam to con black Americans into voting for Democrats.
"However, black activists warn black voters to not fall for the “Blame Whitey” hustle because no one is getting reparations."

As it is, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — the leader of the Democratic Party — warned her fellow leftists to stop screeching about impeachment and open borders and to rein in their radical rhetoric.
Otherwise, she warns, Democrats will surely be steamrolled by President Donald Trump in 2020.
Pelosi said pandering to centrist Americans was how Democrats won back the House of Representatives in the November 2018 mid-term elections. She urged her fellow Democrats to follow a similar approach if they want to defeat Trump in 2020.
“Own the center-left, own the mainstream,” Pelosi said.
Fortunately for President Trump, AOC and her “Squad” refuse to curb their radical rhetoric.
Case in point: “Squad” member Ayanna Pressley continues to foment racial division by urging “black, brown and Muslim faces” to only be a voice for “their kind.” Pressley said:
“If you’re not prepared to come to that table and represent that voice, don’t come. Because we don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice.”
“We don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice. We don’t need Muslims that don’t want to be a Muslim voice. We don’t need queers that don’t want to be a queer voice.”
Imagine the outrage if a white politician had urged “white faces” to be only be a voice for white Americans.
