Meghan Markle, aka the Duchess of Sussex, may not be getting as many fancy invitations in the future, for a few reasons. According to the Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth was “hurt and disappointed” by Markle, husband Prince Harry, and their 4-month-old son Archie for failing to attend the Queen’s annual family gathering at Balmoral, although Markle was seen at the U.S. Open tennis championship to watch her friend Serena Williams lose in the final match.

As if alienating a queen isn’t enough, the Mail reported that fans of Williams have taken to calling Markle a “bad luck charm,” after she previously attended two finals losses by the tennis player at Wimbledon.

One fan tweeted: “Dear Meghan Markle please stop attending Serena’s finals matches. You are a jinx. Signed fans who are not her friends.”

Another wrote: “Meghan. Duchess. Love you so much. Really do. Are you a jinx though? Has she been at most of the losses?”

Markle’s 3,500-mile flight to New York for a day of celebrity hobnobbing at the Open, in addition to being a royal snub of the Queen, flies in the face of the climate activism Prince Harry and the progressive Duchess proclaim as being their prime concern. The couple has drawn harsh criticism for their hypocrisy, especially since announcing they will limit the number of children they have to two, due to climate change. The media is meanwhile happy to report on their travel adventures as they jet-set around the globe on private charters.

The Mail also noted that the Queen’s annual family gathering in the Scottish Highlands at Balmoral is her favorite time of year as she invites family and friends to join her for “a few days of merry chaos.” The paper reported, “It was widely expected that the Duke and Duchess would take baby Archie to join the senior Royals at Balmoral … However, the family were ‘too busy’ – and four-month-old Archie ‘too young’ – to make the trip, according to their spokeswoman, a decision viewed by some as puzzling, to say the least. The excuses might have seemed more plausible but for the fact the couple had already whisked Archie to party island Ibiza in early August and to stay at Sir Elton John’s luxury villa in the south of France just days later.”

The American-actress-turned-royal has managed to completely “baffle” the Queen and others with her behavior since marrying Prince Harry 16 months ago. According to the Mail, it just gets worse with time …

If the couple’s absence from Balmoral might have initially seemed as merely disappointing, now it has all the appearance of an outright snub. The Mail on Sunday understands the Queen is ‘hurt and disappointed’ at a time when she likes to bring her friends and family together. The annual Highland holiday is the Queen’s favourite time of the year and she was, according to a source, looking forward to ‘a few days of merry chaos’ with the great-grandchildren, including Archie.

It is understood Her Majesty is already ‘baffled’ by Meghan and Harry’s inability to steer clear of PR calamities, and is concerned that her beloved grandson and his new wife are failing to listen to their team of advisers.
