At a Kamala Harris campaign event on Friday, a supporter asked the California senator about President Trump, “What are you going to do in the next one year to diminish the mentally retarded actions of this guy?”
Harris laughed and replied, “Well said. Well said. Well, I plan to win this election, I’ll tell you that.”
Watch:
In true progressive form, the 2020 presidential candidate denied knowledge of the questioner’s “retarded” comment, claiming she didn’t hear that part. Here’s the thing though … that denial is just not plausible, given the video evidence.
“When my staff played the video from my town hall yesterday, it was upsetting,” Harris tweeted. “I didn’t hear the words the man used in that moment, but if I had I would’ve stopped and corrected him. I’m sorry. That word and others like it aren’t acceptable. Ever.”

The also-ran, flash-in-the-pan candidate is currently polling in fourth place among Democrat presidential candidates in the six to eight percent range of support, trailing Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders.
Watching the video of the comment and Harris’ giggling response, it’s impossible to believe her subsequent claims of “I didn’t hear the words the man used in that moment.” There was nothing else he said that would have drawn a laugh.
Nonetheless, the liberal media is focusing, not on Harris’ laughing response to the man, but on her backtracking claims that she is offended someone would use that term, as if she actually was offended.
NBC News reporter Deepa Shivara’s version of the story in a Saturday tweet read: “NEW: @VaughnHillyard asks @KamalaHarris about remarks made at her town hall yesterday in NH where an attendee said Trump’s actions were ‘mentally retarded.’ HARRIS: ‘Let me just be really clear. I would never condone that kind of language being spoken by anybody about anybody.'”

Later, Shivara did followup with another tweet: “In her original responds to the man’s question, Harris said: ‘Well said, well said’ Does she regret saying that? HARRIS: ‘I would never condone anyone using that word in any way shape or form, even including the guy, against the guy I’m running against. Period. Period. Period.'”

No mention there that Harris thought it was funny at the time, and no— Shivara did not provide video of the incident where Harris’ actual reaction at the time was clear and unmistakable.
Burying the town hall video of the candidate’s snickering appreciation of the “retarded actions [of Trump]” comment and playing up Harris’ tap-dancing claims of her devotion to the disability community is how the fake news media has chosen to frame this story.
Trump 2020 Deputy Director Matt Wolking weighed in with a simple tweet of his own, pointing out the obvious to a CBS reporter’s version of the story …
That’s weird because when he said it Kamala Harris laughed and responded, “Well said. Well said.” pic.twitter.com/gK0CLkVC9a

I once said “mentally retarded” on Twitter and got banned.
How come @KamalaHarris is allowed to endorse that kind of language?
