Sanctuary county in Md. looks past rape victims to blast Trump and conservative media

In the face of seven illegal immigrants being arrested recently on sex-crimes related charges, a sanctuary county in Maryland lashed out at President Donald Trump and his administration, as well as conservative media.

Officials in Democrat-run Montgomery County took issue with attention being drawn to the crimes, and shared a blistering response on social media attacking the president and Ken Cuccinelli, acting Director of the Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Conservative media was included, with all of the above put on the same scale as “neo-Nazi sympathizers” in a statement that sounded like it was written by a radical left-wing college freshman — the latest example that the party is now dominated by the hard left.

“There has been a lot inaccurate information spread by the White House, President Trump, Acting USCIS Director Ken Cuccinelli, local and national conservative news outlets and neo-Nazi sympathizers regarding our criminal justice system and its process,” the post said. “These individuals and organizations should be ashamed for spreading false information seeking to establish a baseless, illogical and xenophobic connection between a person’s failure to obtain legal status and their propensity to commit a sex crime.”

“Montgomery County has earned a reputation as a great place to live, work and raise a family, not despite of, but because of who we are,” the release said in conclusion. “We will not be defined by a racist paintbrush designed to stoke unreasonable fear and tensions in our county.”

Perhaps not so great for the victims in the aforementioned crimes, but the county opted to focus on the criminal justice process instead of those victimized by people who may have been drawn to the county by policies put in place by these Democrat officials.

Among the crimes was a 37-year-old Honduran national arrested on Aug. 26, charged with raping a 15-year-old girl at a home they shared. In July, two illegal immigrants from El Salvador were arrested on charges of second-degree rape for repeatedly raping an 11-year-old girl over several months.

The young victim reportedly told authorities one of the men “used his cell phone to video record the two of them having sex,” according to ABC & reporter Kevin Lewis.

Cuccinelli responded on social media this week to yet another case where an illegal alien from El Salvador molested a 12-year-old girl and her younger brother.

“More sanctuary Montgomery county consequences… sad and tragic,” he tweeted.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement accused Montgomery County leaders of putting politics ahead of public safety back in July, WJLA-TV reported.

“It makes it more difficult for us to do our job,” Frank Madrigal, the deputy director of ICE’s Baltimore Field Office, told the ABC affiliate. “Something problematic is going to happen.”

And it did, as seen in six illegal aliens being arrested since July 25 for sex-related crimes.

On a positive note, Montgomery County put out an appeal for bilingual volunteers to help assist sexual assault victims and their families through the Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program.

Social media users let the irresponsible liberals in Montgomery County have it… here is a sampling of responses from Twitter:
