Bernie Sanders: I want US to fund abortions worldwide to combat climate change

Socialist presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders says if he’s elected, he wants American taxpayers to pay for abortions in poor countries around the world to limit population growth. Why? Because Sanders claims mass abortions will combat climate change.

Sanders made the assertions at the CNN townhall discussing the “climate crisis.” A female teacher asked the following question:

“Human population growth has more than doubled in the past 50 years. The planet cannot sustain this growth. I realize this is a poisonous topic for politicians, but it’s crucial to face.

Empowering women and educating everyone on the need to curb population growth seems a reasonable campaign to enact. Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?”

Senator Sanders replied that he wholeheartedly supports abortion as birth control, both for American women and women in third-world countries.

“The answer is yes [I plan to address the climate crisis], and the answer has everything to do with the fact that women — in the United States of America — have the right to control their own bodies and make reproductive decisions,” Sanders said.

Sanders added: “The Mexico City agreement — which denies American aid to those organizations around the world that allow women to have abortions or even get involved in birth control — to me is totally absurd. I think especially in poor countries around the world, where women do not necessarily want to have large numbers of babies and where they can have the opportunity through birth control to control the number of kids they have [is] something I very, very strongly support.”

For reference, the Mexico City policy is a U.S. government policy reinstated in 2017 under President Trump that blocks U.S. federal funding for non-governmental organizations that provide abortions as birth control.

Naturally, pro-abortion leftists are screeching that U.S. taxpayers should pay for mass abortions not only in the United States, but in third-world countries around the world.

This inane stance isn’t surprising, considering that abortion enthusiasts like Planned Parenthood now claim that on-demand abortion is a “fundamental human right” — not just for biological women, but for transgender men.

As BizPac Review reported, Laura McQuade, the CEO of Planned Parenthood of New York City, made that absurd argument this summer.

McQuade slammed the recent anti-abortion laws passed in Georgia and Alabama as a violation of basic human rights.

“We’re not facing anti-abortion laws across this country, we are facing a sick attempt to strip us of our fundamental humanity and our individual autonomy!” she said during a fiery speech. “Don’t believe anything less. They are coming for your fundamental human rights!”

McQuade added: “And it’s not just an attack on women. It’s an attack on anyone who can or might get pregnant, including transgender men and gender non-conforming people.”

Interestingly, while the Democratic Party claims to be the “Champions of Women,” they have no problem appropriating and trivializing pregnancy — a biological function that only natural-born wotmen can acually do.
