A woman threw a lit Molotov cocktail into the lobby of a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Oakland Park, Florida, on Friday. No major injuries were reported and the unidentified attacker was taken into custody.

The incident is the third violent attack on the Department of Homeland Security facilities in the last seven weeks … the second involving the use of Molotov cocktails. Although the dangerous attacks have demonstrated intent to kill or injure, no innocents have been killed.

In this latest episode in a string of attacks, a woman walked into the USCIS office about 33 miles north of Miami and lobbed a bottle of gasoline with a lit fuse. Fortunately, the fuse detached from the bottle before the device could ignite.

Acting USCIS Director Ken Cuccinelli denounced the violence being used by those opposed to the enforcement of immigration laws. “Today’s attempted attack on one of our USCIS facilities using a Molotov cocktail is another example of the use of violence in place of debate by those who oppose the proper application of our immigration laws,” he tweeted.

“This is the 2d attack on a DHS facility in 2 months using a Molotov cocktail. Violence has no place in our society. Thankfully, no one was hurt today. We’re grateful to our security guards & the law enforcement officers of FPS who apprehended and arrested the assailant.”

Threats and attacks being leveled at DHS, ICE, and USCIS employees and their families are being rapidly ratcheted up in a menacing political environment being inflamed by leftist voices in congress, the media, and presidential candidates.

Just over two weeks ago, a suspect was arrested after shots were fired at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office. A second facility in San Antonio where an ICE contractor was located was also targeted with gunfire.

“Political rhetoric and misinformation that various politicians, media outlets and activist groups recklessly disseminate to the American people regarding the ICE mission only serve to further encourage these violent acts,” Field Office Director Daniel Bible told told KABB-TV, after that incident. “ICE officers put their lives on the line each and every day to keep our communities safe. This disturbing public discourse shrouds our critical law enforcement function and unnecessarily puts our officers’ safety at risk.”

Armed attacker Willem Van Spronsen was killed by law enforcement July 13 after he attacked a Tacoma, Washington, ICE detention center after throwing Molotov cocktails at the building and at nearby propane tanks. Van Spronsen, an Antifa supporter, had previously been arrested at the same Tacoma facility after attacking a police officer, placing him in a choke hold. Following that arrest, he pleaded guilty to a charge of obstructing an officer and received a one-year deferred sentence.

Following Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) declaring that DHS and ICE detention centers for illegal immigrants are “concentration camps,” many of her bootlickers have taken up the call to attack and “liberate” them, including former New York Daily News columnist Shaun King who tweeted “We should liberate them NOW – by any means necessary.”

The malignant rhetoric about concentration camps continues apace and the resulting violence continues.

A week ago, in a wildly inaccurate rant, MSNBC host John Heilemann regurgitated the AOC canard. “When you start talking about permanent detention facilities for minorities in any extant country,” he said, “it’s like in the textbook definition of what a concentration camp is: permanent detention. That’s what that is … at least one important part of what a concentration camp is.”

“I mean, as much cruelty as we see on the … behalf of this administration, is that really a charge that this administration wants to give fuel to? Because it’s going to become increasingly hard to not call that what it is,” he added.
