Tucker Carlson celebrated the news of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s decision to drop out of the 2020 presidential race.

The Fox News host slammed the “pampered hypocrite,” calling her the “worst candidate ever” during Wednesday’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Carlson shared the news of the New York Democrat’s announcement saying it did not deserve to be handled as a “Fox News Alert” since she never polled higher with Democratic voters than the margin of error.

Gillibrand ended her presidential campaign Wednesday after she did not qualify for the next round of Democratic debates.

“Today, I am ending my campaign for president. I am so proud of this team and all we’ve accomplished. But I think it’s important to know how you can best serve,” she said in a video message.  “Now, let’s go beat Donald Trump and win back the Senate.”

Trump responded with a snarky shot back at the Democrat.

Carlson, meanwhile, called Gillibrand “perhaps the worst candidate ever to run from any party in the history of this country.”

“Gillibrand, in fact, represented the worst trends of the modern left all in one package,” he said, calling her an “utter phony” who “only cares about accumulating power for herself.”

He described how the senator moved “far to the left on just about every issue” after “being handed Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat,” noting her more conservative stance on issues before she took that office. He also noted how Gillibrand was “happy to be friends with Bill Clinton and Harvey Weinstein” but denounced them when it was “politically expedient” to do so, contending that they were “useful” to her in her pursuit of power, regardless of what she might have known about them.

Carlson reminded viewers that it was Gillibrand who “led the effort to push Al Franken out of the United States Senate, though there was no evidence he had done anything wrong.”

“It was that unfair. But that’s Kirsten Gillibrand in a nutshell, a pampered hypocrite with no scruples, happy to lecture you about your failings and your privilege,” the Fox News host said, leading to several clips of the New York senator, including her promise to “Clorox the Oval Office” and to pass the Green New Deal as “our moonshot.”

Also included in the montage was Gillibrand’s unbelievable lecture to a woman about “white privilege” and “institutional racism.”

“Self-righteous, dumb, yeah that’s par for the course here in Washington, but the last clip shows why Gillibrand stands apart,” Carlson said.

“That was Gillibrand, the United States senator, lecturing a mother in Youngstown, Ohio,” he explained. Gillibrand was telling her that no matter how much Washington abandons her and her entire region to unemployment and drug addiction and suicide and diabetes, actually that woman should be ashamed of her white privilege.”

“That’s Kirsten Gillibrand in one clip. Really, the worst candidate ever,” he added. “Good riddance, Kirsten Gillibrand.”

Carlson followed his monologue by turning to his guest, City Journal associate editor Seth Barron, clarifying that he usually can “sympathize” with candidates who withdraw from a race as it can be “painful” and “humiliating.”

“But in the case of Kirsten Gillibrand, it can’t come a moment too soon. I can’t think of someone more false, nastier, crueler, more self-centered, dumber, can you?” he asked.

Barron did not hesitate with his reply: “Well, yeah, I mean Mayor de Blasio is kind of a close second.”
