Doomsday AOC: Brave millennials are first ‘informed’ generation to defy government

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., claimed in her latest blabbering Instagram Live video that millennials are more “informed” than past generations and also the first generation “willing to go to the streets” to protest the government.

“I think young people are more informed and dynamic than their predecessors,” the controversial congresswoman said.

She added, “They actually take time to read and understand our [world] history.”

Apparently forgetting the turbulent protests in the ’60s or the many other political protests that have happened over the years, AOC said that protesting millennials are different from past generations because they are actually willing to hit the streets to defy the government.

“I think this new generation is very profound, and very strong, and very brave, because they’re actually willing to go to the streets,” she said. “Previous generations have just assumed that government’s got it.”

If AOC, who is a millennial herself at 29, actually read history she would know that this is a ridiculous statement. It ignores past generations who took to the streets to protest in favor of civil rights or the sometimes violent protests that occurred during the Vietnam War.

Even pushing major movements like those to the side, AOC is also ignoring recent history. How about the Tea Party?

AOC’s statement gets even more confusing because she actually does reference civil rights in her incoherent talk.

“They actually take time to read and understand our history, the history of the labor movement, history of civil rights, history of economics, history of the United States, history of colonialism, and they’re not afraid to have those conversations,” she said of millennials.

Considering polls have shown that many millennials are not in favor of free speech, it’s pretty easy to take issue with AOC’s statements.

What reflects even more poorly on millennials is a study by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany from April 2019 that found that around two-thirds of millennials are not familiar with Auschwitz. Also from that study is the alarming reveal that 22 percent of those asked had not heard or were not sure they had heard of the Holocaust. This is pretty relevant when you consider freshman congressmen like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, who have close ties to AOC, have been accused on numerous occasions of anti-Semitism.

Even AOC herself was in hot water after she compared detention centers for illegal immigrants to “concentration camps,” a statement that shows a surprising lack of historical knowledge on the part of the lawmaker.

AOC also spoke to her followers about global warming on Instagram Live while she made macaroni and cheese. She said she wakes up in the middle of the night concerned about climate change and proceeded to fear-monger people about apparent diseases that are headed our way — this coming from the same person who claims the world only has 12 years left due to global warming.

“Even while I was on vacation I woke up in the middle of the night at 3:30 in the morning just concerned about climate change,” she said. “I’m 29 years old, I really struggle sometimes with the idea of how to be a policymaker, and potentially have a family in the time of climate change.”

She later said, “There are a lot of diseases that are frozen in some of these glaciers that scientists fear that there is a potential that a lot of diseases could escape these melted glaciers, things that were frozen for thousands of years, and that they’re going to get into our water, and that humans could contract them, and they’re going to be diseases that are thousands of years old that have vectors that we are not prepared for, that we have never seen.”

She then claimed that even if melting glaciers don’t carry prehistoric diseases, crazy mosquitoes will come and get us.

“Even if there are no diseases frozen at all in these glaciers, you have diseases that are spread by mosquitoes, and now mosquitoes are starting to fly further north that carry diseases like malaria, and a whole slew of other things,” she said.
