CNN off the rails: How dare you use the word ‘hijack’ in reference to Muslims Omar and Tlaib

According to CNN political commentator Angela Rye, “white men” who speak truthfully about Muslim Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib’s glaring anti-Semitism and connections to genuine anti-Israeli terrorist organizations are themselves the real terrorists.

You can talk over me all you want to, but the bottom line is the greatest terrorist threat in this country is white men — white men who think like you,” she said Monday evening on CNN to a white GOP campaign strategist who’d criticized the Muslim congresswomen’s widely panned behavior. “That is the greatest terrorist threat in this country.”

The remarks were made during a discussion on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” about President Donald Trump’s own criticism of the two congresswomen, who earlier that afternoon had held a press conference in which they’d spouted even more anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Watch the first part of the discussion — which doesn’t include Rye’s “white men” remarks — below:

Right off the bat, left-wing show host Chris Cuomo — a man who only a week earlier had alleged that the nickname “Fredo” is an “ethnic slur” against Italians — accused the president of targeting the congresswomen because “they’re Muslim and brown.”

GOP strategist Patrick Griffin said no, he’s targeting them because it behooves him to promote them and their radicalism as the face of the Democrat Party.

“I will tell you that Donald Trump should go play the lottery,” he said. “The fact that he has drawn these two women, these four women — this ‘squad,’ if you will — and has been able to paint them as the progressive leftist left of the Democrat Party, the guy should play the lottery. I mean, you can’t get luckier than this.”

“This has to do with the fact that the far-left leaning things these folks stand for are not going to work in swing states in this country. It’s why Donald Trump will cruise again to a very narrow election victory, but he’s going to win. This stuff doesn’t sell with most people outside of Manhattan, Los Angeles and parts of New York.”

Fact-check: TRUE.

Given the opportunity to respond, Rye delivered a screed about how the focus should be on doing the right thing versus trying to win elections.

“It’s unfortunate that now this is about winning elections more than this is about changing the consciousness of people to ensure that we begin to do the right thing,” she said. “I will take the ‘squad’ any day over Donald Trump.”

It’s unclear what’s “right” about promoting hatred against the Jewish people, hobnobbing with anti-Israeli terrorist organizations and, in some cases, outright defending anti-Israeli terrorism.

Cuomo then swooped in to against accuse the president of “picking” on Omar and Tlaib because of their skin color and choice of religion.

“Chris, we’re back to this identity politics,” Griffin responded. “They picked themselves, Chris. The fact of the matter is, these members of Congress have decided to stand up and speak out for the Democratic caucus. Nancy Pelosi can’t even control these folks. This has nothing to do with the color of their skin. This has everything to do with the fact that they’re supporting terrorist organizations in Israel.”

These four women, particularly these two, have taken over the Democratic Party — hijacked it from their own speaker,” he added.

He’s not the only Republican who’s made the same observation. Nevertheless, it’s at about this point that Rye dropped her stunning remark about “white men” who are terrorists.

Her justification for it? Griffin’s correct use of the verb “hijacked.”

“It’s so interesting that you use the term for the only two Muslim women in Congress — the term you chose to use, sir, is hijacking,” she said. “You chose to use the term hijacking.”

“You can talk over me all you want to, but the bottom line is the greatest terrorist threat in this country is white men — white men who think like you. That is the greatest terrorist threat in this country.”

So according to Rye, who appears on CNN almost every night, simply being a “white man” with an opposing opinion — namely, the belief that Omar and Tlaib are a boon for the president as per their widely disliked anti-Semitism — makes one a terrorist.

When asked by Cuomo to clarify, she said that the greatest terrorist threat in America is specifically “racist rhetoric and that type of rhetoric fueling the type of hatred that is resulting in white supremacist threats, the increase in hate crimes all over this country.”

Cuomo agreed with this, saying, “This is a matter of fact. We are dealing with terrorism in this country that is done at the hand of white nationalists and extremists.”

The fact is that Jewish people — not Muslims — have been the number one victims of hate crimes in America for years, if not decades:

And fueling these hate crimes has been the very same brand of anti-Semitism that Omar and Tlaib unrepentantly promote daily — not that anyone at CNN seems to mind, because to them, criticism of known anti-Semites by “white men” is the real terrorism in America.
