Harsh ridicule hurled at MSNBC for ‘Hardball’ duo Scaramucci and Omarosa

If there are two names politicos are tired of hearing, it’s Anthony Scaramucci and Omarosa Manigault-Newman.

The social media team for Chris Matthews’ “Hardball” has announced that the two Donald Trump-haters will be headliners for an upcoming episode of the MSNBC show and the internet seems to have collectively groaned in response.

While both have their fans, the two are more celebrities than political pundits. Scaramucci only worked for 11 days in the White House, and Omarosa never had more than a minor role. Her position in the Office of Public Liaison seemed like more of a favor for all the years she worked with Trump in reality television than a real position.

While both began as enthusiastic Trump supporters, they have each turned on the president. The two seem eager, however, to constantly be in the limelight talking about Trump. Both the left and the right seem tired of it.

“Journalism is failing you,” Soledad O’Brien wrote in response to the MSNBC announcement.

Other reactions were just as harsh with many arguing that the media is so eager to get Trump haters on the air that they’ll pretty much take anybody at this point.

“The media asks itsself how can we avoid making the mistakes of 2016? By not doing this,” responded one Twitter user.

Another replied, “This is embarrassing, even for @MSNBC.”

“Every one of us should be forced to watch every last second of this so we can truly comprehend what we have done. We did this,” wrote another.

Another said, “Pretty sure you can’t have a show called hardball and then invite two tabloid celebs on and still call it hardball.”

President Trump recently responded to Scaramucci’s criticisms in a tweet.

“Scaramucci, who like so many others had nothing to do with my Election victory, is only upset that I didn’t want him back in the Administration (where he desperately wanted to be). Also, I seldom had time to return his many calls to me. He just wanted to be on TV!” he tweeted.

In a previous tweet, Trump wrote, “Anthony Scaramucci, who was quickly terminated (11 days) from a position that he was totally incapable of handling, now seems to do nothing but television as the all time expert on ‘President Trump.'”

He continued, “Like many other so-called television experts, he knows very little about me other than the fact that this Administration has probably done more than any other Administration in its first 2 1/2 years of existence. Anthony, who would do anything to come back in, should remember the only reason he is on TV, and it’s not for being the Mooch!”

On ex “Apprentice” star Omarosa, Trump tweeted last year, “Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart.”
