Conservative commentator and outspoken Trump critic Ann Coulter took to Twitter on Monday and seemed to imply that the president should be charged for his businesses allegedly working with illegal immigrants. Coulter stopped short of calling him out directly on the charges.
“Yes, why WON’T authorities charge the employers using all the illegal alien workers?” Coulter wrote in response to an investigative report from The Washington Post that suggested Trump’s properties used a construction crew that hires illegal immigrants.
“ANSWER: BOTH REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS SUCK UP TO EMPLOYERS FOR THEIR CAMPAIGN DONATIONS,” Coulter added as an answer to her previous question.

The report from the Post claimed that at least eight Trump businesses have hired the construction crew in question. It also claimed that the construction crew was so well-known for its use of illegal immigrants that it was dubbed by some as “Los Picapiedras,” which is Spanish for “The Flinstones.” The nickname came from the fact that the crew allegedly worked on a number of stone fixtures on Trump properties.
Though she was one of his most vocal supporters during his presidential campaign, Coulter has been highly critical of Trump while he has been president. She has criticized him for the slow progress on the southern border wall, as well as his recent openness to new gun control legislation.
QUIZ: Does @realDonaldTrump know less about gun laws or immigration law? WE ALREADY HAVE UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS. Forcing widows to lose money selling her husband's gun to a nephew is not going to stop one gun crime.

Laws that would actually reduce gun crimes: 1) prosecute of straw purchasers 2) concealed carry laws 3) stop hiding the disciplinary records of high school kids 4) allow crazy people to be institutionalized 5) force local officials to follow up on "red flag" tips.

Trump is the American Merkel. But who cares about Germany? Trump just destroyed the U.S.A.

Coulter did, however, seem more open to Monday’s announcement that the Trump administration will be using a newly defined “public charge” rule to make sure people immigrating to this country are less likely to end up collecting government benefits.
“Wait, but liberals assure us that immigrants are big taxpayers, accept no government benefits, keep social security afloat, etc. etc. Govt benefits cut off … Liberals: THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! INHUMANE! HOW DARE YOU?” she tweeted in response to that news.

Trump responded to some of Coulter’s criticisms in March by tweeting, “Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasn’t figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border.”
He added, “Major sections of Wall are being built and renovated, with MUCH MORE to follow shortly.”

As for the Post story, Coulter is not the only one using it as ammunition to go after the president. CNN’s Jake Tapper questioned Mark Morgan, the acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, about the story’s claims in a recent fiery interview.
“So The Washington Post reported that eight Trump Organization properties have employed, whether you call them illegal or undocumented immigrants, and this is one of many headlines about undocumented immigrants working for President Trump properties, construction crews, working at his properties or golf clubs,” Tapper said to Morgan, adding, “There have been zero raids on any of those companies despite headline after headline. It is like you are turning a blind eye to this crime being committed by the president’s own companies.”
“I’ve been in law enforcement for over 25 years so, first of all. Again, I’m the commissioner of CBP, so it’s not my responsibility,” Morgan responded.
“I take offense to say anybody is turning a blind eye to someone that is violating the law,” he later added.
Morgan later told Tapper that he was speculating about a situation he didn’t know enough about.
“There are investigations going on all of the time that you’re unaware of,” he said. “And we shouldn’t be aware of those investigations. So those investigations should be done without notifying everyone because of course it will jeopardize the investigation if I come on here and talk to you about an investigation that is going on.”
