Former Miss Iraq unloads on ‘extremist’ Ilhan Omar: She ‘doesn’t represent me as a Muslim’

Anti-Semitic Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar didn’t respond well this week when a fellow Muslim woman called her out for being antithetical to what modern Islam is supposed to be and tacitly accused her of essentially being a terrorist supporter/sympathizer.

That fellow Muslim woman is Sarah Idan, an Iraqi-American model who was crowned Miss Universe Iraq in 2017. During an interview Sunday with investigative reporter Sara Carter, she bluntly said that Omar’s brand of Islam doesn’t represent her or those like her.

Omar does not represent me as a Muslim, does not represent millions of Muslims in the middle in the Middle East. You know like in Arab countries we call her the Muslim Brotherhood,” she said.

They are extremist Muslims, Sunni Muslims, who are now working together with Iran against all the Arab countries. They’re working now with Hezbollah, with Turkey, with all that. You know, the thing is about this organization they are extremist Muslims, they’re Jihadis, and they have this ideology that they want to control the world.

You can listen to the whole interview below, or fast-forward to the 41:30 mark to hear Idan’s remarks about Ilhan in particular:

Idan is among a growing sect of secular Muslims who — much like secular Christians who subscribe to Christianity but not in a literal fashion — subscribes to the basic theology of Islam but doesn’t believe its edicts should be interpreted and abided to in a strict, literal fashion.

If you peruse her Instagram, for instance, you’ll notice her wearing neither a hijab or a niqab.

This separates her from the likes of Ilhan, who always wears a hijab, even when walking through the halls of Congress. So does Idan’s love of Israel, a country that the congresswoman appears to hate.

During the Miss Universe contest two years ago, the Iraqi-American model snapped a selfie with Miss Israel, Adar Gandelsman. This led to a spate of death threats against her by those Muslims who — seemingly much like Omar — also appear to loathe Israel and its very existence.

To this day, the selfie still remains up on Idan’s Instagram, as she refuses to kowtow to radical Islamists, including Omar, who for the record hasn’t responded well to the model’s criticism of her.

After Carter shared the model’s quote to Twitter on Thursday, the congresswoman clapped back by complaining that Idan isn’t a member of her district:

She also liked the following tweet that was written by one of her supporters:

But if the congresswoman thought Idan would take this sitting down, she thought wrong.

“Seriously @IlhanMN this is your intellectual come back?” she wrote in a scathing rebuttal. “I said as a MUSLIM! I dont stand for your anti-American, anti-Semitic, Muslim Brotherhood agenda using this democracy to further YOUR & YOUR FRIENDS Islamic socialism goals of dividing & weakening our country.”

“When you @IlhanMN come to my State, My City, My zip code right here in CA & accept an award from CAIR a Muslim brotherhood affiliated organization IT IS my business! First was the Middle East, then Europe & now the USA. I fled from the same ideology you’re trying to export here.”

Fact-check: True.

“Miss Iraq, Sarah Idan, and her family had to flee their homeland after receiving death threats over a photo she posted online last month,” Fox News confirmed in late 2017.

She isn’t wrong about Omar’s ties to terrorism. In fact, a report published earlier this year revealed that she’d been meeting privately with Islamic groups tied to, you guessed it, terrorism.

“Omar recently spoke in Florida at a private event hosted by Islamic Relief, a charity organization long said to have deep ties to groups that advocate terrorism against Israel,” the Washington Free Beacon reported in March.

“Over the weekend, she will appear at another private event in California that is hosted by CAIR-CA PAC, a political action committee affiliated with the Council on American Islamic Relations, or CAIR a group that was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a massive terror-funding incident.”

The report added that the first group with whom Omar spoke — Islamic Relief — “has come under congressional investigation for what lawmakers have described as its efforts to provide assistance to terrorist groups such as Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Meanwhile, as Omar has spoken with terrorist-linked groups, Idan has been busy delivering speeches in raising money for United Hatzalah, a volunteer-based emergency medical services organization based in Jerusalem:
