Footage allegedly shows April Ryan’s bodyguard violently snatch camera from reporter taping her

A reporter with New Brunswick Today, an independent community news organization, was allegedly attacked by April Ryan’s security guard on Saturday evening at an event held at The Heldrich Hotel in downtown New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Video footage captured by the outlet shows Ryan, a White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks and political analyst for CNN, starting to deliver the keynote speech at the 4th annual New Jersey Parent Summit right before the altercation occurred.

As she begins speaking, she keeps staring at New Brunswick Today reporter Charlie Kratovil’s camera in an odd manner. Soon after, her security guard approaches her, and she signals for him to do something.

Ryan then stands there staring at Kratovil’s camera for about 30 seconds, up until the moment someone snatches the camera from Kratovil. At that very moment, Ryan suddenly starts talking again.

Watch below:

Following the altercation, Kratovil posted tweets claiming that the man who’d grabbed his camera had been the same security guard seen earlier in the footage.

“I was just assaulted by @AprilDRyan’s security guard for videotaping her remarks in New Brunswick – I guess some journalists don’t support freedom of the press,” he wrote. “First of all, I’m okay, although my left shoulder & arm did get hurt when the man (who police tell me is named Joel Morris) twisted it behind my back and shoved me out of the building.”

He added that he’d been an invited guest at the event and that his camera had been “rolling the entire night” until Ryan allegedly directed her security guard to snatch it from him.

Not much else is known at the moment about what happened, except for the fact that the folks at CNN, where Ryan works, in general have very little respect for independent journalists.

It seems as if in their eyes, only the “elite” “journalists” and “reporters” who work for multimillion dollar corporations and attend lavish celebrity parties matter. To hell with everybody else.

For instance, when the White House held a social media summit last month with non-establishment journalists and commentators to address concerns about the censorship of non-establishment ideas, CNN rushed to impugn and mock the event.

“President Trump is calling it a ‘social media summit,’ but the White House did not extend invites to representatives from Facebook or Twitter. Instead, the White House has invited its political allies to the event,” CNN senior media “reporter” Oliver Darcy snidely and falselyreported.”

He continued, “In addition to inviting leaders from traditional conservative think tanks, such as the Heritage Foundation and Claremont Institute, the White House has requested the presence of far-right internet personalities and trolls, some of whom have pushed conspiracy theories, lies and misinformation. It’s perhaps the clearest example yet of President Trump legitimizing fringe political allies.”

In reality, the event featured a hodgepodge of independent liberal, conservative and libertarian voices, including that of Tim Pool, a fairly left-wing but non-establishment commentator.

The #VoxAdpocalypse mentioned by Pool was a tangentially related event that involved independent content creators and journalists being banned from YouTube as per the demands of the corporate-backed establishment “journalists” at Vox, a site not too dissimilar from CNN.

But herein lies the crux of it: The folks at CNN (and Vox), including it would appear Ryan, only seem to respect establishment journalists who boast extravagant “credentials,” fancy books deals, the phone numbers of rich celebrities and, of course, shamelessly self-centered selfies.

In fact, during that very social media summit last month at the White House, a figure from none other than CNN — political analyst Brian Karem — mocked the politically diverse group of attendees as “people that are eager for demonic possession” and challenged one, former Trump administration official Sebastian Gorka, to a fight. That’s how much respect CNN has for non-establishment voices.

Is it any wonder that Ryan’s security guard allegedly attacked Kratovil? #ThisIsCNN.
