Democrat presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke seized an opportunity for media attention on Saturday by claiming that President Donald Trump is responsible for the tragic mass shooting in El Paso, Texas — where O’Rourke at one time served as mayor.

“Yes. We’ve had a rise in hate crimes every single one of the last three years,” O’Rourke said. “During an administration where you’ve had the president call Mexicans rapists and criminals.”

He added, “He is a racist, and he stokes racism in this country. It does not just offend our sensibilities; it fundamentally changes the character of this country and it leads to violence.”

Following this weekend’s two mass shootings — one in Dayton, Ohio early Sunday morning and Saturday’s El Paso shooting — politicians on the left and the mainstream media are eagerly stirring up anger and fueling more political divisiveness, trying to use emotional racism and gun control issues to their advantage.

Officials confirmed that the Texas suspect was the author of a racist, anti-immigrant manifesto that was posted to the website 8chan before the attack, according to The Hill.

Leftist social media activists are filling their feeds with attacks on the president, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Republicans, the NRA, and conservatives, attempting to lay blame for the criminal acts at their feet.

The left is giddy to have a chance to further inflame tensions and fury among their followers and widen the divide separating Americans over our core liberties.

The latest reports indicate 20 people were killed in an El Paso Walmart and 26 more were injured. Texas General Land Office Commissioner George P. Bush, son of Jeb Bush, called the crime “white terrorism,” saying it is a “real and present threat that we must all denounce and defeat.”

“I believe fighting terrorism remains a national priority. And that should include standing firm against white terrorism,” he added.

The 21-year-old El Paso shooter surrendered to police and was apprehended without incident.

Sunday morning at approximately 1 a.m., nine people were killed near a bar in Dayton. The shooter was shot dead by police.
