US Border Patrol shows toddler DNA revealed was used by migrant crosser pretending to be his father

Though congressional Democrats remain reluctant to admit it, the “recycling” of illegal alien children remains a growing problem along the southern U.S. border.

First revealed by then-Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen back in March, these “recycling” operations involve cartel-affiliated smugglers using illegal alien children to help random, unrelated adults legally apply for asylum within the United States.

Behind the photo: On July 17, McAllen USBP agents encountered a group of 12 people comprised of family units and unaccompanied children who turned themselves in. Record checks revealed an individual traveling with his alleged son had 2 previous immigration arrests in El Paso Sector just in the past month. Given the recent apprehensions and the age of the child, Agents requested the assistance of HSI to administer a rapid DNA test. The test revealed there is no parent-child relationship. The man admitted he was not the child’s father, but knew the mother and had permission to the take the child. The man admitted that it is common knowledge in Honduras that if you bring a child, you will be released.

Around mid-July, agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection found the boy seen above traveling with a man who claimed to be his father and used this claim to demand asylum.

But when CBP officials looked the man up, they found that he “had 2 previous immigration arrests in El Paso Sector just in the past month,” the agency revealed in the Instagram post above.

“Given the recent apprehensions and the age of the child, Agents requested the assistance of HSI to administer a rapid DNA test,” the post continues.

The test revealed there is no parent-child relationship. The man admitted he was not the child’s father, but knew the mother and had permission to the take the child. The man admitted that it is common knowledge in Honduras that if you bring a child, you will be released.

Of course, congressional Republicans and Trump administration officials already knew this was happening. Democrats meanwhile continue to pretend as if all this is a figment of someone’s imagination:

The apprehension of the boy and his fake father occurred a day before acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan testified to Congress about the case of a 51-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala who’d purchased a 6-month-old baby for $80.

It’s unclear whether this 51-year-old illegal alien is the same one mentioned by CBP in its Instagram post.

“We’ve seen all manner of smuggling organizations communicating to potential customers and to those crossing the border how to bring a child with them to be allowed to stay in the United States,” McAleenan said during his congressional testimony. They’ve been active in advertising, literally on Facebook and on the radio in Central America.”

“In many of these communities in Central America, it’s pretty known who the coyote is — who the alien smuggler who’s willing to bring you to the United States is in those communities.”

“They’ll have a situation where everybody knows that if you bring a child, they’ll be allowed to stay in the U.S. … If they have an individual who wants to go to the U.S. and somebody has a child that they might want to make some additional money renting that child, or they want the child to be delivered to a relative in the U.S., they’ll say ‘hey, take my child,’ they’ll go procure a fraudulent document and then they’re smuggled to the U.S. border.”

Listen to some of his chilling testimony below:

But little of this is ever mentioned by congressional Democrats and their allies in the demonstrably left-wing mainstream media. In fact, if you search for the story about the boy pictured in CBP’s Instagram post, you won’t find anything. All you’ll find are dubious, unproven allegations of abuse by CBP and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials — who, according to the left, are the real villains.

“Migrant child alleges she was ‘beaten and abused’ at Clint, Texas, border station,” a headline at NBC News reads.

“Border agent in Clint accused of harassing mother of 12-year-old migrant who was in custody,” another headline, this from The Washington Post, reads.

And all you’ll find regarding the “recycling” of children is an inflammatory post published by BuzzFeed News in March that reads, “The Homeland Security Chief Says, Without Evidence, Children Are Being Recycled At The Border.”

It seems clear that the left doesn’t take the problem seriously, even though it appears to be quickly growing worse.

“One of the most telling statistics is that of men crossing the border with a child,” The Epoch Times reported Wednesday. “In 2014, less than 1 percent of all men apprehended by Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Valley Sector had a child with them. That number now sits at 50 percent.

During his testimony to Congress last month, McAleenan revealed that roughly 5,500 cases of potential fraud had been discovered within the previous eight weeks alone.

“We’ve identified about 5,500 cases of fraud and family units just the eight weeks that we’ve had special agents helping our patrol agents with these investigations,” he said. “Fifteen percent of those they’ve interviewed have turned out to be fraudulent cases. That tells me that we might be scratching the surface of this problem, and the number of children being put at risk might be even higher.”

Of the first 2,475 family units they’ve interviewed, 352 were fraudulent. 14.2 percent. 921 fraudulent documents have been discovered, and we’ve prosecuted 615 individuals for basically trafficking or smuggling a child with fraudulent documents. And that’s just in the past eight weeks.

It’s unknown how many more cases have been identified since his testimony last month.
