Heckler interrupts live ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ to defend President Trump against trash-talking

Bill Maher had a lively interruption by a supporter of President Trump during the taping of his HBO show.

The comedian and talk show host was speaking to his guest, conservative commentator Buck Sexton, when the incident occurred, right in the middle of live-taping HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Friday.

The heckler shouted out during a discussion Maher and Sexton were having about Rep. John Ratcliffe’s decision withdraw his nomination as Director of National Intelligence.

The Texas Republican announced his decision Friday, explaining that he did not want his nomination to become a partisan and political issue.

Maher slammed the congressman under consideration as a “green, ass-kissing lackey.” Sexton sparked boos from the audience as he defended Trump, saying that the president no longer wanted Ratcliffe “once some of the information on his inflated resume came out.”

Sexton noted that former Obama administration officials “politicized the tops of the intelligence communities.” But Maher dismissed his contention, arguing that Trump is to blame.

“Those guys were never political, Trump made them political because he behaved this way,” the HBO host said.

During Maher’s rant, a pro-Trump member of the audience apparently had had enough.

“Instead of trashing our great president and our great country – ” he shouted before being drowned out by the audience reaction.

“I do not know him, by the way. I do not know him,” Sexton joked.

“I see you brought a guest,” Maher quipped.

“Alright, alright, sir. This is not the first time I’ve had to go in the audience, but we have to get faster moving security people, I’m telling you,” Maher added as he stood up.

“I know you’re going to make America great again. You’ve made your point — I don’t know what it was, but you’ve made your point,” Maher said. “And I think your point was that you like Trump, and there are a lot of people who like Trump.”

“Just make sure he doesn’t have a gun,” he told security as they escorted the man out.

Though the majority of Maher’s audience applauded, Twitter users weighed on the liberal host and his reaction.
