It’s always enjoyable to see the left eat its own, especially when it comes to their liberal application of the race card.
Sen. Bernie Sanders’ national press secretary Briahna Joy Gray took to Twitter to accuse Claire McCaskill of using “racial dog whistles” in her post-debate analysis.
“‘Free stuff doesn’t play in the Midwest’ sounds an awful lot like the racial dog whistles about ‘hard working whites’ vs ‘handouts’ for POCs and I really hope that’s not what’s happening here,” Gray tweeted, along with a clip of McCaskill’s remarks.

McCaskill, the former Democratic U.S. senator from Missouri, is now an analyst for MSNBC and she was commenting on how the radical left views of Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Sanders, D-Mass., don’t play well in the Midwest.
In the clip, MSNBC host Brian Williams asked: “What happens when you walk into those communities and say ‘Great news, you’re all going to get green jobs, we’ll need the keys to your F-150s because we’re going all-electric.”
“It would not be good,” McCaskill replied. “And I think what Tim Ryan is trying to express is a bucket of cold water, which is reality about where America is. America is generally not as far along the left line as Bernie and Elizabeth.”
“Free stuff from the government does not play well in the Midwest. Because they’re just convinced that they’re never the ones getting the free stuff,” she added.
McCaskill, who lost to Republican Sen. Josh Hawley in her 2018 reelection bid, went on to say this is the “anger” and “angst” that President Donald Trump tapped into to win their votes.
“You know, they’re working really hard and they can’t afford to retire,” she said of Midwest voters. “And that was part of the thing that Trump did. He said basically, I’m going to tap into your anger and your angst. We’re going to blame the Mexicans and the Muslims for everything that’s wrong with the world and lots of people who voted for Barack Obama said, you know, maybe this guy is finally going to — you know, let’s pull the pin on the grenade and toss it and see what happens.”
Talk about racial dog whistles.
As for being critical of Sanders and Warren, well… that just won’t fly for intolerant, hard-left progressives.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:

“Free stuff”? What free stuff? You mean my taxes paying for things that I actually want and need? You mean jobs that not only pay well but invest in keeping our planet from flicking us off it like fleas? That kind of free stuff? Shut up Claire. This is why you lost re-election

Claire McCaskill doesn’t play well in the Midwest or she’d still be a senator ?♀️

It’s absolutely a dog whistle. Conservative midwesterners have a phony image of themselves being rugged frontier capitalists, when they’re really the biggest recipients of government assistance.

Why do we keep going to Claire McCaskill for advice on winning the Midwest, when her most recent claim to fame is losing a Senate seat in the Midwest?
