Three suspects busted for water attacks on NYC police already let loose, two without bail

Less than 24 hours after being taken into custody Wednesday over their involvement in the recent spate of anti-cop water attacks that have plagued New York City, three suspects were reportedly released back into their respective communities — two without even paying bail.

“Isaiah Scott and Chad Bowden, the Harlem men charged with soaking a female civilian on July 21 near the scene of that neighborhood’s water-bucket attack, walked free without bail late Wednesday at Manhattan criminal court,” the New York Post has confirmed.

“The men, respectively 23 and 28, were hit with charges including criminal mischief and harassment, because the water fried the unsuspecting woman’s cellphone, prosecutors allege.”

Wednesday was literally the same day that the two were taken into custody.

A third suspect, a reputed Crips gangbanger who was involved in a water attack in Brooklyn that occurred on June 20, was also released, but only after reportedly posting $3,500 bail.

“Courtney Thompson — who in addition to being a purported member of the crew’s Fresh Gangstas subset is the son of a Department of Correction captain — ruined the officer’s body camera with his alleged stunt, according to court papers,” the Post notes.

As of Friday, at least three attacks had occurred — the one that happened last Saturday in Brooklyn and involved Thompson; the one that happened last Sunday in Harlem and involved Scott and Bowden; and a third one that reportedly occurred sometime this week in the Bronx and involved two unidentified “suspects” who may possibly be children.

“The duo was not immediately identified or charged, but sources said they’re believed to be among around a dozen young men and women recorded inundating two female cops keeping watch outside Morrisania’s Herman Ridder Junior High School on Wednesday,” according to the Post.

It’s unclear whether they too will eventually be arrested and then released less than 24 hours later.

Local officers have reportedly blamed this “disgusting trend” of water attacks on the city’s Democrat leadership.

“We are approaching the point of no return,” NYC Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch said in a statement Monday. “Our anti-cop lawmakers have gotten their wish: the NYPD is now frozen. It’s not the fault of these police officers. It’s the end result of the torrent of bad policies and anti-police rhetoric that has been streaming out of City Hall and Albany for years now.”

“Disorder controls the streets, and our elected leaders refuse to allow us to take them back. As police officers, we need to draw a line.”

The NYC Mayor is considered to be one of most (if not the most) anti-cop mayors in the city’s history.

“The de Blasios paint a grim picture of an America where racist cops lurk on every corner, lying in wait to execute innocent black men. Meanwhile, on Planet Reality, men and women in blue give their lives to protect and serve on increasingly lawless streets,” conservative commentator Michelle Malkin noted in a column this week.

And according to critics on social media, including President Donald Trump, nothing seems to better exemplify de Blasio’s prioritization of criminal interests over those of his law-abiding constituents and his own police force than, one, Scott, Bowden and Thompson’s speedy release from jail, and two, the NYPD reportedly being forced to stand down during the actual water attacks themselves:

The NYC mayor is notorious for his anti-cop sentiment. Even during the first round of Democrat presidential primary debates last month, he couldn’t resist taking shots at the police.

During a rant on gun crimes, he argued that “to stop the shootings and get these guns off the streets,” the police need to change their relationship with the communities they patrol. Especially the black communities they patrol. To bolster this point, the mayor described how he’s raised his black son, Dante, to essentially be afraid of the racist police.
