Omar reportedly splits with husband and moves into swanky Minneapolis apartment

The Daily Mail has exclusively reported that they learned Democratic Representative of Minnesota Ilhan Omar has split from her husband, Ahmed Hirsi – the father of her three children.

This split comes as many are demanding to know whether she married her own brother as a way to help him gain citizenship in the United States, though the reports remain unconfirmed.

Hirsi and Omar were first married in 2002 in a Muslim ceremony, but in 2008 the couple divorced after “reaching an impasse” in their lives. Omar would go on to marry Ahmed Nur Said Elmi – who many people believe to be her own brother – in 2009. Despite their marriage, Omar had her third child by then-ex-husband in 2012. Elmi and Omar then divorced in 2017, and she remarried Hirsi in 2018.

Upon their alleged separation, Omar moved into a rather swanky Minneapolis apartment in what DailyMail is calling “one of the trendiest neighborhoods.” But they’re also reporting that Hirsi has been seen house-sitting for Omar when she’s in DC.

‘Wow,’ said Hirsi, when approached about the split by DailyMail.com outside the complex. ‘I can’t comment on that.

‘I’m sorry, I just can’t say anything,’ he added before driving off in his BMW car.

Hirsi, 39, had been seen leaving the $2,860-a-month home alone at 7:45am and returning to drop off his mother and his younger daughter nearly three hours later.

‘He only goes there when Ilhan is in DC,’ one family friend told DailyMail.com. ‘When she’s in Minneapolis he sleeps at his house.’

According to the article, Omar did not respond to a request for comment prior to publication.

When Omar returned home after being publicly berated by President Trump, she received a hero’s welcome at the airport, but the Daily Mail notes that Hirsi was conspicuously absent from the festivities. Sources told the publication that instead, he was sitting by himself at a Starbucks near their shared home.

This story is already making the rounds on Twitter, and people are being absolutely ruthless about it in the most hilarious ways.
