Scarborough gets ‘dead serious’ in morning tirade to Dems: Get in Trump’s face…whatever it takes to win

Joe Scarborough is pleading with Democrats to “do whatever it takes to win” against President Donald Trump.

The MSNBC host was “dead serious” in his rant on “Morning Joe” Thursday, calling on Democrats to deal with Trump by getting “in his face” or else reap the consequences of another four years of his administration.

Scarborough’s tirade followed Wednesday’s disastrous Robert Mueller hearings and was a reaction to an opinion piece in the National Review contending that Trump would not be defeated in 2020 without Democrats “throwing a punch.”

“All along, Democrats were hoping the special counsel would do their dirty work. It’s the same mistake all of Trump’s opponents have made,” Michael Brendan Daugherty wrote.

His op-ed concluded:

And aggression is not the natural language of our political class. Our politicians call for regime change, as if war were a matter of switching office holders. Trump threatened countries with fire, fury and annihilation. Cory Booker said last week “my testosterone sometimes makes me want to feel like punching” Donald Trump. And in that completely bizarre, and entirely non-credible threat is the Democrats’ problem heading into 2020. They sometimes feel like fighting. But I suspect they never will.

Scarborough claimed the tactics are just what he has been calling for since 2016 when Trump ran and won.

“The only way to Defeat Donald Trump, and I’ve said this for years, is you’ve got to get in his face, you’ve got to smother him politically,” he said, noting how Trump’s Republican opponents in 2016 were unsuccessful because they didn’t know how to fight back.

Citing Trump’s infamous digs at former rival Sen. Ted Cruz, Scarborough argued that he would never have allowed Trump to succeed if he had been on the receiving end of his insults.

“If somebody did that to me, they would not be there. they would not have been elected president of the United States, because I would have spent every waking second figuring out how to destroy their political career. And I would have done it,” the former Florida Republican congressman boasted.

Scarborough continued his rant by describing what he would say to Trump if he were up against him politically.

“You know Donald, here’s the deal: I may not win but neither are you, because I’m going to spend 24 hours, seven days a week working, focusing,” he said.

“I’m not to sleep until I figure out how to turn your political bones to dust” and “at that point, I’m going to spit on it. And then I’m going to sweep it off the stage and make sure nobody remembers you for anything other than the mean clown that you are.”

One can only imagine the explosive outrage that would have erupted had the remarks been made on Fox News about a Democrat, let alone a sitting president.

“I’m sorry to scare children this morning,” Scarborough quipped as the MSNBC panel, including his co-host and wife Mika Brzezinski agreed, laughing.

“I’m dead serious,” he continued, addressing Democrats in the House and the 2020 presidential contenders.

“If you want to stop Donald Trump…it’s time to roll up your sleeves and go after him and do whatever it takes to win,” he said.  “If you don’t do that, you’ll have Donald Trump for four more years.”

Scarborough’s schoolyard bullying advice went over real well with former Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti who is currently facing charges of extortion and defrauding clients.

But others on Twitter o=found the MSNBC host’s rant nothing short of entertaining.
