Trump offers to meet Schumer asap, help him get up to speed on border crisis he’s just now seeing

President Donald Trump took advantage of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer “finally” visiting the southern border to say he will “set up a meeting ASAP” with the Democratic senator from New York.

Taking to social media to make the announcement, the president also drew attention to a “large group of illegal immigrants” rushing Border Patrol agents in an attempt to force their way into the country, noting that some agents were “badly injured.”

“Senator Chuck Schumer has finally gone to the Southern Border with some Democrat Senators. This is a GREAT thing!” Trump said in a pair of tweets. “Nearby, he missed a large group of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter the USA illegally. They wildly rushed Border Patrol. Some Agents were badly injured….

“Based on the comments made by Senator Schumer, he must have seen how dangerous & bad for our Country the Border is. It is not a “manufactured crisis,” as the Fake News Media & their Democrat partners tried to portray. He said he wants to meet. I will set up a meeting ASAP!”

Schumer and a delegation of Democrats toured migrant detention centers in Texas last week, although this group failed to achieve the same grandstanding affect that a group of radical progressives Democratic lawmakers, led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., achieved — of course, AOC made a wildly inaccurate claim that agents were forcing migrants to drink from the toilet, while Schumer complained about bad dental hygiene.

Most likely, Schumer didn’t ask the migrants how often they brushed their teeth in making the long, arduous trek to the U.S.-Mexico border. It’s possible, perhaps, that the Mexican drug cartels who control access lanes to the U.S. border, are big on taking care of your teeth.

The comment from President Trump about a large group of illegal immigrants “wildly rushing” agents occurred on the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge, which connects the southern Texas city of Pharr to Reynosa, Mexico.

The bridge was temporarily closed Friday after a group of about 50 people tried to force their way across. Agents were forced to use tear gas and pepper spray as the mob turned violent, punching and kicking as they tried to cross.

Democrats who decry the conditions of seriously overcrowded detention facilities, the result of Congress refusing to address our broken immigration laws, were quiet on the incident and the injured agents.

Agents the Democrat lawmakers have been vilifying for months.

The irony of Schumer touring the southern border, which followed a visit last week by Vice President Mike Pence, is seen when looking back at his remarks in January.

Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., accused President Trump of trying to “manufacture a crisis” after the president sounded an early warning of a “crisis of the heart and a crisis of the soul” during a Jan. 8 Oval Office address to the nation.

In the Democrats’ rebuttal that draws to mind a Saturday Night Live skit, Schumer downplayed the idea that there was a crisis, saying Trump was fear-mongering.

“This president just used the backdrop of the Oval Office to manufacture a crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration,” Schumer said.

On Friday, Schumer used the backdrop of the border to score political points, noted conservative pundit Michelle Malkin.

The Senate Minority Leader expressed interest in passing a bill, Stop Cruelty to Migrant Children Act, to improve conditions for illegal immigrants overwhelming the border, but has shown zero interest in passing bills to address broken asylum laws that serve as a siren, calling hundreds of thousands of Central American migrants to our border.
