Buckets of fake blood dumped at ICE facility in protest

Less than a week after a left-wing extremist attempted to fire-bomb a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Tacoma, Washington, another group of left-wing extremists showed up outside an ICE facility in Portland, Oregon, to stir up their own brand of trouble.

Except instead of showing up armed with AR-15 rifles and Molotov cocktails, this batch of extremists arrived with only two things in hand: anti-ICE/Trump signs and buckets of fake blood.

“Protestors blocked a Portland street Friday afternoon to throw buckets of fake blood in front of the local U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters to demonstrate against President Donald Trump’s immigration policies,” The Oregonian reported.

“The protest, put together by Extinction Rebellion PDX, OccupyICEPDX, the Portland Sanctuary Coalition and the Buddhist Peace Fellowship, was named El Rio de Sangre, or the River of Blood to demonstrate against deaths at the Rio Grande and for those coming to the border.”

Watch the extremist protest below:

The blood was designed specifically to symbolize “the bloodshed of the U.S. racist’s immigration policies,” some of the activists said to the paper.

Yet oddly enough, there were no such protests during former President Barack Hussein Obama’s administration, despite statistics compiled by the U.S. Border Patrol showing that more illegal aliens on average died crossing the border during his administration than have died during Trump’s.

“[T]he reality is that deaths at the U.S-Mexico border decreased after Donald Trump became president,” an analysis by National Review has shown. “The fact remains that the totals from 2017 (298) and 2018 (283) are two of the lowest since 1999 — and there was no mass outcry in earlier years with much higher numbers.”

The protests Friday in Portland were reportedly also motivated by so-called climate change.

“We believe the U.S. has a big responsibility as the biggest contributor to carbon emissions globally,” Extinction Rebellion PDX activist Cassia Gammill said. “We caused the climate crisis, and we need to take responsibility. Punishing the people who are suffering for it is wrong.”

This ties in to immigration because far-left activists believe it’s climate change that’s motivated the citizens of Central American nations to “migrate” to the United States.

This bizarre theory has also been espoused by certain members of Congress, including Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“The far-right loves to drum up fear and resistance to immigrants. But have you ever noticed they never talk about what‘s causing people to flee their homes in the first place?” she tweeted earlier this year. “Perhaps that’s [because] they’d be forced to confront one major factor fueling global migration: Climate change.”

But as evidenced by the scathing responses this tweet inspired, conservatives tend to be more apt to believe that endless illegal immigration is being driven by Central America’s corrupt, socialist governments; by Central America’s cartel violence; and by the Democrat-orchestrated incentivization of illegal immigration.

According to Fox News, the actual factors spurring the migrant crisis are “violent crime and extreme poverty,” both of which have been exacerbated by Central America’s socialist policies, some of which admittedly exist because of intervention by the likes of Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Dovetailing back to the protest in Portland, the fake blood reportedly left the road “slick.” Local authorities had to shut it down for roughly two hours so that the Portland Bureau of Transportation could clean up the mess left by the anti-ICE, anti-Trump protesters.

It’s unclear why the people who kvetch the loudest about alleged climate change invariably turn to be the same people who have no qualms about littering the streets with blood and garbage.

It brings to mind the old saying, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

Suffice it to say, left-wingers who believe climate change is an actual problem and that the U.S. needs to take “responsibility” for it should start by changing their own behavior: Stop littering, stop using private jets and stop being hypocrites.
