Some will insist that a woman knows these things.
First lady Melania Trump told her husband, President Donald Trump, that Christine Blasey Ford was lying when she testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in September 2018.
That’s according to a new book by Mollie Hemingway, senior editor at The Federalist, and Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director of the Judicial Crisis Network.
“You know that woman is lying, don’t you?” Mrs. Trump reportedly told her husband, according to the New York Post.
Titled, “Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court,” the book delves into the confirmation process of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, as the conservative authors “explore what the bitterly divisive hearings mean for the future of the Court and the battle for the soul of America,” according to the Amazon description.
Central to the process was the last minute ambush of Kavanaugh orchestrated by Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., that featured Ford’s accusation that she was sexually abused by Kavanaugh over 40 years ago when they were in high school — every person Ford placed in the room failed to recall the terrifying incident she tearfully described to Congress.
The testimony included little details that a complicit media seemed desperate to believe.
“Her credibility, if anything, was viewed as stronger because of her lapses in memory and because the odder parts to the story, such as her description of how she came to tell her husband about the assault,” the authors wrote. “Despite the holes in her story, the media clung to these details.”
But even as the media elevates the accusations, so too did the right push back.
Correct. The have offered four people who say she once told them about misconduct, decades after it happened. That is not proof that it happened. If i told you i had flown to Pluto and you swore that i told you i had flown to Pluto, it doesn't mean i flew to Pluto. https://t.co/0WdzzMeUNy

The brutal confirmation hearing showed America how ruthless the Democratic Party can be, as senators tried to destroy a respected man’s career and life on national TV.
The wear and tear on Kavanaugh throughout the attack played out on the screen and registered with every man in America who understood it could just as easily be them if they stood in the way of these ruthless politicians.
The book also recounts the ordeal that Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, a pivotal swing vote in the Kavanaugh confirmation, went through with her family, to include Collins’ husband being threatened with ricin in a letter addressed to their home — the liberal Republican senator eventually voted in favor of confirming Kavanaugh.
As for the suggestion that Ford was lying, that put Melania Trump in the company of millions of Americans who just didn’t buy her story, or the circumstances leading up to her coming forward so many years later.
Here’s a sampling of other responses from Twitter, to include a troubling observation that many Americans knew Ford was lying and just didn’t care:
Everyone knew this, even the Democrats in the Senate.

most of us saw that Ms. Ford’s story was full of holes; an 11th hr hail mary.

Well then on that the First Lady and I agree.

I didn’t need Melania to tell me she was lying.

Her and the rest of the sane world.

I think most people knew she was lying. Some of them, blinded by hate & ideology, didn’t seem to mind.
