Donald Trump lashes out at Fox News: ‘They forgot the people who got them there’

President Donald Trump had Fox News set in his sights on Sunday evening and the results were not pretty.

The president lashed out at the network’s weekend anchors in a series of tweets about negative media coverage of his administration.

“Watching @FoxNews weekend anchors is worse than watching low ratings Fake News @CNN, or Lyin’ Brian Williams,” Trump tweeted.

After tearing into the controversial Williams, the president continued by saying that Fox News has been loading itself up with Democrat employees and he now seems to think they are pushing the same fake news stories that other networks are so used to pushing.

“But @FoxNews, who failed in getting the very BORING Dem debates, is now loading up with Democrats & even using Fake unsourced @nytimes as a ‘source’ of information (ask the Times what they paid for the Boston Globe, & what they sold it for (lost 1.5 Billion Dollars), or their old headquarters building disaster, or their unfunded liability? @FoxNews is changing fast, but they forgot the people who got them there!” tweeted Trump.

Trump later took to Twitter again to double down on his Fox News criticisms.

“Impossible to believe that @FoxNews has hired @donnabrazile, the person fired by @CNN (after they tried to hide the bad facts, & failed) for giving Crooked Hillary Clinton the questions to a debate, something unimaginable,” the president tweeted. “Now she is all over Fox, including Shep Smith, by far, their lowest rated show.”

He continued, “Watch the @FoxNews weekend daytime anchors, who are terrible, go after her big time. That’s what they want – but it sure is not what the audience wants!”

Sunday was a big day for Trump targeting the mainstream media as he also lashed out at The New York Times and other outlets that have reported negatively on conditions in migrant detention centers.

“The Fake News Media, in particular the Failing @nytimes, is writing phony and exaggerated accounts of the Border Detention Centers,” Trump tweeted.

He continued, “First of all, people should not be entering our Country illegally, only for us to then have to care for them. We should be allowed to focus on United States Citizens first. Border Patrol, and others in Law Enforcement, have been doing a great job. We said there was a Crisis – the Fake News & the Dems said it was ‘manufactured.’”

He finished by blaming Democrats for stalling on the issues of immigration and border security.

“Now all agree we were right, but they always knew that. They are crowded (which we brought up, not them) because the Dems won’t change the Loopholes and Asylum. Big Media Con Job!” the president tweeted.

Though Fox News has plenty of conservative commentators like Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity who give the president a fair shake, there are anchors like Shepard Smith who are typically reliably anti-Trump in their reporting.

Donald Trump has appeared on Fox News more than any other network and though he has criticized the network in the past, he hasn’t done so quite this harshly.

He at least has a right to be mad. Trump has suffered some of the worst media coverage of any president and every little thing seems to fall on his shoulders. Just look at the situation with the border. Trump has been talking about a crisis on the border since he first ran for president and leftists and mainstream media outlets laughed him off. Now they can’t stop talking about a crisis at the border and how it’s all Trump’s fault.
