Chaos erupted at the Fourth of July fireworks show at Chicago’s Navy Pier when a stampede occurred after at least three people were stabbed.

The alarming incident unfolded at around 10 p.m. local time, when an argument broke out on the pier between a group of young men after gang signs were flashed, Chicago police said.

Two of the stabbing victims were teens

Three people were stabbed when the argument turned violent. They were taken to local hospitals, where they remain in serious-to-critical condition. One of the stabbing victims is a 14-year-old boy, while another is 15.

A 30-year-old man who was not part of the original argument somehow got stabbed in the face, the Chicago Tribune reported. Police say the man does not remember why he was stabbed or by whom, or how he even ended up in the middle of the brawl.

“Just chaos. Chaos. That’s all it was,” one woman told Chicago Sun-Times. “We got separated from each other because everyone went in different directions when it started. But thank God, He got us all back together. That’s all that matters.”

The situation got even worse after someone shouted “Gun!” in the crowd, causing people to panic. During the ensuing stampede, at least 14 people were injured and later hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

The melee was chronicled on Twitter.

‘Sanctuary city’ Chicago has crumbled under Democratic mayor

Authorities still have not identified the exact cause of the argument, but an investigation is ongoing. The stabbings and subsequent claims that someone had a gun caused almost 60,000 people to panic and run through downtown Chicago and away from the Navy Pier.

Like fellow “sanctuary city” New York, violent crime in Chicago has spiked under the leadership of outgoing Democratic Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a former Obama White House senior official.

In September 2018, Emanuel shocked Democrats when he abruptly announced that he would not seek re-election after a disastrous two terms, as BizPac Review reported.

The city of Chicago has had a Democratic mayor for the past 88 years (since 1931). During that time, crime rates, homicides, poverty, and homelessness have all spiked under the direction of incompetent, corrupt left-wing politicians.

Democrat-Run States Have Worst Economies

This is not surprising since research confirms that states run by Democrats have the worst economies, according to the report “Rich States, Poor States.”

The 2017 report shows that states run by Republicans have the strongest economies.

In contrast, many of the worst-performing states are run by Democrats — meaning Dems control either the governor’s office, the legislature, or both.

Democrat-Led Cities Top ‘Most Dangerous’ List

A separate study of the 100 Most Dangerous Cities in the United States shows that the most crime-ridden cities are run by Democrats.

Democratic mayors preside over 16 of the top 20 cities with the highest violent crime rates, according to Neighborhood Scout, which compiled the report.

Democrats routinely take flourishing American cities and run them into the ground:

President Trump says all Democrats who support sanctuary cities are responsible for the brutal murders committed against law-abiding Americans by illegal aliens.
