Rep. Maxine Waters was roasted after her tone-deaf attempt to blame President Trump for problems festering in her own back yard.
Touting a bill she introduced to combat homelessness, the California Democrat tweeted Wednesday for support of the “Ending Homelessness Act of 2019,” firing a jab at Trump that defied logic in its epic lack of self-awareness.
Homeless families sleeping on the streets; children sleeping in cars, trying to go to school ea. day; and seniors, 70 & 80 yrs old eating out of trash cans. Yes Trump, this is a disgrace. It’s shameful for the most prosperous country in the world to tolerate this! Support HR 1856 pic.twitter.com/9EJpmJKMYU

“It’s shameful for the most prosperous country in the world to tolerate this!” she wrote, calling out the president for the “disgrace” that has plagued her own district for years before Trump entered the White House.
The bill seeks to provide mandatory funding to housing programs to the tune of over $13 billion in federal funds over five years.
The real disgrace, many pointed out, is that Waters seemed to be describing conditions around the city of Los Angeles, which includes the 80-year-old congresswoman’s district.
Last year, Los Angeles launched a half-million dollar pilot program to deal with its rampant homeless population, paying homeowners to build shelters in their backyards to be occupied by the homeless. A cleanup of one of California’s homeless camps last year along the Santa Ana River in Anaheim uncovered 404 tons of trash, over 13,000 hypodermic needles and more than 5,000 pounds of hazardous human waste.
California’s newly elected Gov. Gavin Newsom was shocked by the homeless levels in the state and announced his plans to launch a task force in order to “find solutions.” Celebrity doctor Drew Pinsky has been sounding the alarm on a deadly epidemic that could strike Los Angeles this summer, and said local politicians will have to bear the blame.
While Waters, who is currently in her 15th term in the House, is busy blaming Trump for the homelessness crisis in the country, the president noted an interesting correlation between the issue and the leadership in cities facing a rising homeless population.
“And this is the liberal establishment. This is what I’m fighting,” he told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
“They — I don’t know if they’re afraid of votes. I don’t know if they really believe that this should be taking place. But it’s a terrible thing that’s taking place.,” he said.

According to the Los Angeles Times:
In a hard reality check for Los Angeles County’s multibillion-dollar hope of ending homelessness, officials reported Tuesday that the number of people living on the streets, in vehicles and in shelters increased by about 12% over last year.
The annual point-in-time count, delivered to the Board of Supervisors, put the number of homeless people just shy of 59,000 countywide. Within the city of Los Angeles, the number soared to more than 36,000, a 16% increase.
Waters was schooled on her ridiculous tweet Wednesday as Twitter users slammed her for failing to look in the mirror.
Looking out the window again in your district, Maxine?

we visited your district not long ago…
it’s trash.
you spend your money on fancy dinner and drinks, huge houses, and yet there you have it…#hypocritehttps://t.co/YxarWnKPY3— LazyMeatball (@LazyMeatball) July 4, 2019
Same measure you been introducing for 3 years now. Give it up Maxine. The problems are at the state level & illegal immigration is a contributing factor to homelessness. They scoop up the affordable housing, burden the school system, & burden local services. Addiction adds to it.

You have served in the house since 1991 – 15 terms! 28 years! @realDonaldTrump has been in office 3 years. This has been going on, particularly in California, for MUCH longer than 3 years. All you have done in those 28 years is get filthy rich on a public servants salary.

It’s YOUR district, @RepMaxineWaters ! You and @SpeakerPelosi are completely responsible for YOUR districts!

She has a lot off nerve blaming the issues in her district, that she and her family have stolen so much from, on a president of 2 years.
