Ratings for MSNBC opinion host Rachel Maddow continue to crater following the release of Robert Mueller’s final report concluding there was no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion and insufficient evidence for obstruction of justice.
“The Rachel Maddow Show” — which is MSNBC’s highest-rated cable news show — averaged 2.45 million viewers a night in June, down from 2.6 million for the month of May, according to Nielsen Media.
Maddow’s ratings tank ever since Mueller report was released
Maddow’s ratings have plunged consistently since Mueller released his final report earlier this month. This isn’t surprising, since Maddow’s viewership spiked dramatically during the past two years because she made the Russia collusion hoax a centerpiece of her talk show every single night.
Once the Mueller report concluded there was no evidence to indict President Trump with, Maddow’s ratings started to collapse.
On July 1, Tucker Carlson topped the cable news ratings, with 3.196 million viewers. Sean Hannity’s show came in second, with 2.96 million viewers.
The Rachel Maddow Show — which has previously beaten both Hannity and Tucker thanks to her outlandish conspiracy theories — came in third, with 2.465 million viewers. That’s a strong showing, but well off her usual highs over the past two years.
Rachel Maddow rabidly stoked Russia conspiracy hoax
Maddow’s ratings suffered a dramatic decline in May — the day after Attorney General William Barr released his summary of the Mueller report. And they haven’t recovered since.
Fox News has consistently beaten both CNN and MSNBC in ratings around-the-clock for the past 20 years.
However, fans are increasingly alarmed that the cable news network is becoming more left-wing, with Rupert Murdoch’s leftist sons at the helm.
Fox News audience: FNC is becoming left-wing
As BizPac Review reported in April, Catholic League president Bill Donohue slammed the left-wing direction that Fox News has moved toward under the stewardship of founder Rupert Murdoch’s liberal sons, James and Lachlan Murdoch.
“This is not the same Fox News that is was under Roger Ailes,” Donohue said in April. “He would have never, ever have put up with this [leftist propaganda].”
Donohue was referencing a disturbing incident the previous day, when the left-leaning Neil Cavuto hung up on Donohue because he said he was “suspicious” of the fire that destroyed the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris this week.
While French authorities claim the fire was an accident caused by ongoing renovation, Donohue says he suspects that the Catholic church might have been set on fire intentionally.
Donohue pointed out that there has been a massive escalation in the vandalism and destruction of Catholic churches across France during the past couple of years — most perpetrated by Islamists who hate Christians.
Murdoch brothers donated to Democrat Pete Buttigieg
Bill Donohue says he’s alarmed that Fox News has increasingly alienated the conservative audience that has made it the No. 1 cable news network for the past 20 years.
“When I say it’s coming from the top, they did this all day on Fox [spout left-wing propaganda],” Donohue said. “I got all kinds of phone calls from friends of mine. And they say this is the M.O. This is what Fox is doing. So this is coming from the corporate boys [James and Lachlan Murdoch].”
Meanwhile, FEC filings show that James Murdoch gave the maximum possible donation to 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg’s campaign.
James is running Fox News along with his leftist brother Lachlan. So you do the math: FNC could morph into CNN once Rupert Murdoch, 88, passes — and Fox News’ stellar ratings will tumble into CNN territory.
