Town in Ilhan Omar’s district votes to ditch Pledge of Allegiance, in the name of diversity

In the name of so-called “diversity,” a city in anti-Semitic, anti-American Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s district has voted to effectively ditch the Pledge of Allegiance.

In order to create a more welcoming environment to a diverse community, we are going to forgo saying the Pledge of Allegiance before every meeting,” St. Louis Park, Minnesota City Council member Tim Brausen announced at a recent council meeting.

“The change was approved unanimously by city council in a 5 to 0 vote,” local station WCCO reported Wednesday, adding that the rule will take effect on July 15.

According to the New York Daily News, the rule change “was recommended by a study group seeking to boost citizen attendance at the sessions.”

It’s unclear how disrespecting the United States would “boost citizen attendance.” Data does show though that slightly under one percent of St. Louis Park’s residents are Muslim. And if these Muslims are at all like their Muslim congressional representative, then perhaps this tiny one percent contingency will indeed feel more inclined to show up at future city council hearings ….

City Council member Anne Mavity, who reportedly sponsored the rule change, argued in a statement to the media that the rule change makes sense because not everybody who appears before the council is a citizen.

“Not everyone who does business with the city or has a conversation is a citizen,” she said. “They certainly don’t need to come into city council chambers and pledge their allegiance to our country in order to tell us what their input is about a sidewalk in front of their home.”

Plenty of locals appear to disagree with this mindset.

Listen:

“It represents a lot to this country. Freedom,” longtime St. Louis Park resident David Gohman said to WCCO. “I think it should be said every time, whether it is in school or meetings or whatever. We owe it to the country.”

Ellen Hertz, a local business owner, added that while she doesn’t necessarily mind the rule change, she doesn’t think it was necessary.

“In terms of what would offend people and what offends me, that’s not at the top of the list,” she said.

Led by the Minnesota Senate Republicans, the response on social media has been far more critical.

Look:

What remains unclear is why members of the St. Louis Park City Council believe that local residents are essentially offended by the Pledge of Allegiance. That being said, the latter tweet above about Ilhan does appear to hint at a possible explanation.

Ilhan is, for all intents and purposes, the most anti-American legislator to ever be elected to office. Besides continually siding against the United States and in favor of its enemies abroad, including the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism, Iran, the Muslim congresswoman has also displayed sympathy for Islamic terrorists, blamed the U.S. for the world’s suffering and acted as if America is a veritable sh-thole.

Dovetailing back to the district she represents, including St. Louis Park, data from the FBI shows that it’s the terrorist recruitment capital of the United States.

“More men and boys from a Somali American community in Minneapolis have joined – or attempted to join – a foreign terrorist organization over the last 12 years than any other jurisdiction in the country,” Fox News reported earlier this year, citing data from the FBI.

St. Louis Park is slightly to the west of Minneapolis, though technically speaking, they’re part of the same greater Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area:

The data specifically shows that over the past 12 years, a total of 45 Muslims have departed from the metropolitan area to go join a radical Islamic troop, be it ISIS or al-Shabab. And of this 45, roughly a dozen Somalis left as recently as 2018 and some even reportedly this year.

“Both numbers are far higher than those of alleged terrorist wannabes who left or attempted to leave the country from other areas in the country where Muslim refugees have been resettled,” Fox noted.

FYI, Omar is herself a Somalian refugee

While it’s unclear how many Somali refugees reside in St. Louis Park, “Minnesota is home to the largest Somali community, with the majority residing in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Perhaps this is why the St. Louis Park City Council chose to ditch the pledge — because the area is dominated by Somalis, and Somalis appear to have ties to Islamic terrorism and anti-Americanism? After all, Brauson did mention wanting “to create a more welcoming environment to a diverse community.”

No matter, because the council already appears to be backtracking on its decision.

“After hearing many comments from the community, the St. Louis Park City Council is revisiting its decision to remove recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance from city council meetings,” Jacque Smith, the city’s communications and marketing manager, said in a statement.

Unfortunately, the discussions reportedly won’t occur until after the July 4th holiday.
