Airline kicks off woman wearing revealing top for ‘disruptive behavior’: ‘It was so sexist’

A woman was kicked off of her flight for “disruptive behavior” after she was told to change her top, which other passengers complained was too revealing.

Harriet Osborne, a 31-year-old mother of two, was wearing a sheer top and she was provided an additional top to wear by employees of EasyJet after other passengers complained they could see her nipples. Osborne reportedly agreed to wear the new top, but she then became “disruptive.”

The flight from Malaga, Spain, to London Stansted Airport could have proceeded as planned, but Osborne reportedly continually acted in a disruptive manner to an employee despite agreeing to wear the new top.

“We can confirm that a passenger traveling from Malaga to Stansted on 23 June was unable to travel due to behaving disruptively. Following concerns about her clothing crew politely requested that the customer wear an additional top for the flight which the customer agreed to. However, she then proceeded to act disruptively towards a member of our crew,” an EasyJet spokesperson told Fox News about the incident.

The spokesperson added, “Our cabin and ground crew are trained to assess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately. We do not tolerate abusive or threatening behavior towards our staff.”

The outfit that was questioned by other passengers can be seen here as The Sun obtained an image of it.

Osborne claims that she did not act “disruptive” and that the airline’s employees made her feel “cheap” and were “horrible” in their behavior towards her.

“The crew were horrible and made me feel cheap. This air hostess confronted me in front of the whole plane and said I wasn’t allowed on in that top. She said to me, ‘Oh no, move to the side,’ and tried to cover me up with my hands. She said, ‘You’re not coming on my plane like that — you need to put a top on’. Then she ordered me off the plane, so of course, I put a top on,” she told The Sun.

Osborne continued by saying that the airline employees acted in a “sexist” manner towards her and discriminated against her.

“When I tried to get back on she turned to the ground crew and said, ‘She’s not coming on my plane.’ I was escorted away from the aircraft. I was in shock. It was so sexist. I just burst out crying. We had to walk back through the terminal where Spanish police stopped to question us. They were baffled when I told them why we’d been kicked off,” she said.

EasyJet was already facing controversy prior to their run-in with Osborne.

The airline made headlines recently when they flew an 88-year-old woman’s suitcase from Luton to Bordeaux, but forgot her at the airport.

There was trouble providing the woman with the special assistance she needed to get on the flight and she was essentially abandoned by her plane.

EasyJet released a public apology following the incident.

“EasyJet carries over 500,000 passengers who needed special assistance every year. Last year the customer satisfaction amongst this group of passengers was 83 per cent, 12 percentage points above all passengers. The safety and welfare of our passengers is always easyJet’s highest priority,” the statement read.
