Leftist celebs, AOC too, start eating their own after disappointing debate performances

It’s early, but after night one of the Democrats’ 20-person debate-athon, some of the candidates are being eliminated in the minds of those who matter most to the unthinking leftist masses … you know–the enlightened celebrities of liberal entertainment lore and social-media big-cheesiness.

“I already heard six candidates tonight that can see themselves out, permanently,” tweeted actress and feminist Amber Tamblyn. She did not specify who she was referring to, but it’s possible that anything short of a call for armed revolution is disqualifying for the hard left at this point.

Bill Maher was unimpressed. He had a valid gripe that no one answered the first question …

Failure to answer questions was a common complaint made by anyone and everyone who was able to stomach the televised mess. Abortion fanatic and Daily Show creator Lizz Winstead swatted at Tulsi Gabbard …

Perhaps the least far-left of the group on stage, Gabbard was a popular target for radical critics. Islamist Linda Sarsour found reason to take a poke at her, tweeting …

Socialist rabblerouser and filmmaker Michael Moore slammed eight of the ten candidates when they failed to adequately volunteer to condemn market-based health care …

The wise ones from Hollywood, including Rosie O’Donnell, Sarah Silverman and others did seem to bow down to Elizabeth Warren after the closing credits.

On “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seemed unimpressed with the whole bunch, other than Warren. But AOC did express her appreciation for the amount of Spanish spoken during the debate, in some of the candidates’ shameless attempts to parlay favor with Latinos. “I loved it, because— I represent the Bronx, there was a lot of Spanglish in the building. I thought it was humorous sometimes at times. Especially because sometimes the content of the question, I thought people were just going to start saying,
(speaking Spanish) which means “I will not give you an answer to your question.”

AOC did also make a fair comparison of those in the debate with a classroom full of unprepared adolescents. “I think sometimes with the debate stage this big, it can kind of seem like a high school classroom, and so there are some folks that, like, didn’t seem like they read the book, and then they got called on,” she said.

“… so they’ll answer the question or they’ll get called on, and I don’t think some candidates thought that they were going to get called on, on a certain question.” continued Ocasio-Cortez. “And they’ll be like, ‘Yes, the hero was courageous and the protagonist of the story.'”

“And Moby Dick was the whale,” Colbert added.
