Ingraham rips Pelosi for ‘using children to get her way’ on illegal immigration, calls it ’emotional ploy’

Laura Ingraham slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for “using children to get her way” on illegal immigration and advised her to clean up her own backyard.

The Fox News host called out the California Democrat during “The Angle” on Monday, noting her use of a “typical emotional ploy” of politicizing the plight of children brought to the U.S. border.

Pelosi reportedly called the president Friday to ask him to call off an impending Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweep to deport people living the United States illegally. Trump agreed to give lawmaker two weeks to come up with a solution as he announced the delay.

“When I spoke to the President, I said ‘Look, I’m a mom, I have five kids, seven, nine grandchildren and children are scared,'” the House Democratic leader said, describing the conversation she had with the president. “You’re scaring the children of America, not just in those families but their neighbors and their communities. You’re scaring the children,”

“No one wants any child ever to be afraid, ever. It is tragic, and it really shouldn’t happen,” Ingraham said after playing the video clip of Pelosi.

“And kids of American criminals, they suffer here too because of the mistakes of their parents. And parents coming illegally, again tragic but now comes the consequences for the whole family sometimes. Or at least there should be consequences if the rule of law means anything,” Ingraham added as she turned the attention on Pelosi’s own district in San Francisco.

“Nancy doesn’t need to go far, does she, from San Francisco to see suffering and desperation. We have seen all those stories. Maybe she should focus on fixing that before throwing rocks,” the Fox News host said.

She went on to condemn the Democratic Party for failing to work with the president to solve the border crisis, and instead spending time “sucking up” to Planned Parenthood. Ingraham also leveled a scathing rebuke at the “resistance media who denied there was a crisis all along.”

While acknowledging that “awful situations” arise in climates where the sheer numbers of illegal immigrants are overwhelming border agents and immigration officials, Ingraham demanded to know why the Democrats remained silent on the issue while former President Obama was in office.

“But where were the Democrats? Where was their outrage before Trump came into office?” she asked, playing a clip of Obama in a 2014 interview with ABC News.

“Do not send your children to the borders. If they do make it, they will get sent back, more importantly, they may not make it,” he said.

Now, do any of you remember Nancy Pelosi firing off angry tweets in demanding a change in Obama policy or criticizing these allegedly inhumane conditions?” Ingraham asked.

It seems Democrats will always change the rules of the game depending on who’s in charge.

Finally, Ingraham called out the media, Pelosi and her party for intentionally misleading the public for political gain.

“Don’t be deceived by the media coverage where the motive images you are seeing because it happened years ago and the Democrats were silent,” she said.

“The Democrats want to eliminate all detentions,” she said, noting that the left will characterize all detention centers as “concentration camps,” as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has, and then “shut them down.”

“So no detentions, no deportations ever,” Ingraham added. “Ultimately they hope for full voting rights for those who came illegally. End of story.”
