Never-before-seen footage of Hillary Clinton prepping for a 2016 debate with Donald Trump has been released, and it gives you a good idea of why Clinton lost the presidency so miserably.

The footage was released through MSNBC’s “Up with David Gura” in preparation for the upcoming Democratic debate, which will include a whopping 20 candidates.

Former senior Clinton campaign advisor Philippe Reines played Trump in the debate preparation and he was on hand to explain the ridiculousness that was Clinton prepping to debate Trump.

Reines and Clinton appear at one point to be simply fooling around as Reines, playing Trump, tries to hug Clinton and she runs around the stage to avoid it.

Playing Trump, Reines showed how little Democrats know about the current president. He brags about having a “big plane” and money and then addresses the doomed hug in the debate prep footage.

“When she loses the debate, she’s going to say I got too close,” Reines says as Trump in the footage after trying to move from behind his podium.

“It’s amazing how prescient that all was,” Gura gushed about the clip. If it was “prescient” in any way, Gura, then Clinton probably would have performed better in the debates.

What’s even more ridiculous than the “debate prep” footage is that Reines was brought on MSNBC as some kind of expert to give insight into the upcoming debate between 2020 Democrat candidates like Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Here’s some of Reine’s debate wisdom:

“When you first turn it on — we’re all jaded — you think, oh I know all of these guys. I know these candidates. I see them all day on TV. This is going to be the first time you see them together. And it’s going to be like a surprise party where you know you’re being surprised, but you’re surprised whose there,” Reines said.

Wow. So the upcoming debate will be like a surprise party that you already know about, but you will be surprised by the people at the party despite seeing them every single day because this is the first time you are seeing them together … or something like that.

Reines went on to predictably praise the diversity among the Democrat candidates.

Trump destroyed Clinton in their debates and it was because he came across as authentic and passionate compared to the robotic, career politician that is Hillary Clinton.

Clinton lost because she had a bad history in D.C. and she had bad ideas, but it was always clear that she was a little unprepared to take on a straight shooter like Trump and now it’s clear why — she never properly prepared. This new debate footage shows that the Clinton camp never took Trump seriously. Reines plays him like a clown and that obviously did a disservice to his candidate.

Clinton did not take Trump seriously and that was her mistake, and it’s likely a mistake the current crop of Dems will make too, especially with people like Reines offering up his “wisdom” to the left.

The Dems’ “surprise party” that’s not really a surprise party will air on June 26 and 27. NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo will be broadcasting the event.
